Later Stage Lyme or Illness And Healing

I am doing this post as a reminder to me and maybe a few of my fellow Lymies when we start feeling better we start forgetting to do these things. This will help others who are ill also. But I have other post that are put together much better. I will clean this up and do a better job when I get a chance.

Later Stage Lyme and Illness

I am not a medical professional. I am posting this information because these are the things that have helped me and I am hoping they may help others. Always try one new thing at a time so if you have a reaction then you will know what you have a reaction to and should not take. If you are taking medication you should go to www.webmd.com do a search for the supplement and they will list the drug interactions and side affects if there is information on it. I am not going to mention th more obvious thing like vitamin C because most people are very aware of the vitamins needed. Also I will repeat things because I feel it is good to remind ourselves.

Detoxing

Detoxing is the first step you should take when you have any illness because they release many toxins that have effects on all parts of the body. When the pathogen dies it releases even more toxins so you may get even sicker when you first start treating it. It is very important to get the toxins out because they can do a lot of damage to the body.

When detoxing make sure you get plenty of water preferably with lemon. Chlorophyl capsules will also help you to detox. Dandelion also helps with detoxing there are studies showing how well it works at detoxing and protecting the body. There are many ways to use it some put it in their salads. I like the leaves lightly stir fried. I like breading and deep frying the flowers. I also like drying the leaves and using it for tea. Make sure you drink water because just like coffee and tea it is a diuretic. When I deep fry them I use peanut oil because it infuses some nutrients into them.

Another very important part of detoxing is not consuming to much or too little protein. If you consume too much it will raise the ammonia levels in your body. If you eat too little then you body will use muscle for energy and again the ammonia levels will go up in your body. So listen to your body if you crave protein then give the body what it wants but if you are not craving it listen to your body.

There is a product that contains arginine and ornithine which should help reduce ammonia levels that the pathogens has caused to become heightened. I am not endorsing the product but from the ingredient that are listed to be in it , it should do a good job at lowering ammonia levels. I would only use it if you cannot get your ammonia levels down. It is called Maxy-HGH made by Food Science.

Chlorophyll helps remove mercury and helps with detoxing in general, also helps build the blood up. Sources of chlorophyll are green produce. Chlorophyll can also help remove mercury from the body. High sulfur foods like broccoli and onions have been shown to help the body remove mercury along with cilantro.

Fluoride works havoc on the whole body. It is also one of the ingredients in some drugs that they use to make people more passive. There are cheaper and better methods of killing pathogens in water so it makes me wonder why they use fluorination?

Some methods to get flouride out of the body is to drink tamarind tea, iodine helps remove it, also boron has been shown to remove fluoride. You can get boron by taking a 1/3 teaspoon of borax and adding it to 1 quart of water or if you are using liters use ¼ teaspoon per liter of water. Apple also contain some boron.

Lead is another tough one to remove. High sulfur foods also help in the removal of lead along with the mercury. Cilantro also helps with mercury removal. If you maintain your calcium levels then it makes it more difficult for the lead to stay in your body.

Healing The Gut

Healing the digestive system plays a major role in healing. It is important to get this healed so we get the nutrients we need for healing and it plays major roles in our immune system. So it is very important to focus on healing our digestive system.

One of the first things you should do is stop eating GMOs especially corn. I am not certain but I think peas are GMO. If you have Candida you should avoid wheat anyways but most of it is GMO now. GMOs throw the balance of our digestive system off and make us prone to Candida and parsites.

Lyme and other illnesses attack the digestive system they also lower our immune system so we are susceptible to opportunistic infections like Candida and Hpylori.

From the things we experience usually the lining of our stomachs get damaged. I used liquid Aloe Vera capsules. It helps coat the stomach so it can heal ant also has some antimicrobial properties. If that doesn’t help then I also add Cherry flavored Pepto Bismol. I get the cherry because mint stimulates acid production so we want to try to stay away from mint. We should also avoid things with tannic acid like coffee.

Now to fight the infections in our gut we need to use Ghee. Ghee has butyric acid, butyric acid works to protect the stomach and intestines it also helps break our food down so we get more nutrients and energy . We also get the added benefits of the phospolipids that help strengthen and protect our cells. Choline should be taken at the same time that you use the Ghee because it helps your body process the healthy fats better. Sources of it are milk, green fruits and vegetables, chicken, kidney beans, peanuts, almonds and brown rices.

Now I take a multitude of things to fight opportunistic infections and possible parasites. Alicin is derived from garlic it is the yellow stuff that forms when garlic is cut or crushed. It has some anti parasitic properties and antimicrobial properties. Bromelain is the next one on my list. It is derived form pineapple it also helps fight parasites. Oregano oil has worked great for my Candida and has dramatically reduced my symptoms of Lyme. You cannot take too much of it. There have been studies on people who have taken very high doses with no adverse affects. I don’t know much about it but I couldn’t take it on an empty stomach as a matter of fact I would not take any of these on an empty stomach. Another one I have not tried but heard it works good on Candida is bee propolis. I do not know anything about it. Clove oil is another I like but I do not like the taste. It helps with pain and it also has anti paritsitic properties. Chlorophyll is another thing that is noted for killing Candida it really helped mine. I get the capsules because I hate the taste of the liquid. You get the added benefit of it helping to remove mercury from the body. Kelped helped my Candida a lot but you have to make sure it did not come from contaminated waters. Also it is high in iodine so you don’t want to take Too much of it. Xylitol is another thing you can add to the arsenal because a lot of pathogens can form biofilms and it has been shown to break up those biofilms making it easier for your body to kill them. Wormwood/Walnut tincture also works very good at killing Candida and other infections. It like coconut oil can cross the blood brain barrier. You have to be careful with this one. Only use it for a couple weeks a month at the most and follow directions when you use it. If you are prone to seizures then they don’t recommend using it. I had very good results with this. You must make sure that it is Wormwood/Walnut both. I have tried just Wormwood and it is not as effective.

Now it is important to use probiotics to restore your your digestive tract. Make sure it has active cultures and acidodelphus the higher the number the better it is. Not sure about the spelling on that one. Also eat yogurt and fermented foods like sour kraut and kim chi, not sure about the spelling on that one either but it is the Korean version of sour kraut. There is another people say helps it is called kefir but I have never tried it.

Inulin promotes healthy bacteria in the digestive system and improves digestive functions. (think fiber) Studies have shown that it may contribute to better calcium abosorbtion. Sources of inulin are chicory root, jerusalem artichoke, asparagus, artichokes, bananas, rye and barley.

Electrolytes

Most illnesses cause an electrolyte imbalance. When people think of electrolytes they usually think of the minerals you lose but water intake has to be balanced also. If your electrolyte balance is off then you will be thirsty no matter how much water you drink you will continue to be thirsty. This is why it is important to balance your electrolytes. The amount of water varies by person but on average from what I have been reading we should get between 9-13 cups of water a day. Since it was not specified whether it was from just water consumption I believe that those amounts were considering the water we take in from our food also. The minerals we lose the most are calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus. I did not mention milk because once it is pasteurized the calcium changes to a type that is difficult for the body to use.

Something to keep in mind is that calcium and magnesium need to be balanced, so try to balance your intake of them best you can. Calcium needs magnesium to work and vice versa. Some sources of calcium are white beans, salmon, sardines, dried figs, black strap molasses, kale, black eyed peas, almonds, oranges, turnip greens, sesame seeds.

Some sources of magnesium are squash seeds and pumpkins seeds, spinach, swiss chard, sesame seeds, quinoa, beans, and nuts.

Some sources of potassium are beans, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, milk products, clams, carrots, squash, bananas, oranges and apricots.

Some sources of phosphorus are scallops, sardines, squash and pumpkin seeds, cod, tuna, lentils, shrimp, mushrooms, quinoa, oatmeal, cheese and milk.

For Infection

Since Lyme and many other illnesses lower our immune system we need to take things to help protect us. There are infections that can cross the blood brain barrier. What helped me for the brain part of my infections is coconut oil, walnut/worm wood tincture. I got my vision back and it dramatically reduced my head aches. Coconut oil is a diuretic.

For the other parasites and infections that could get in other areas of the body, I used bromelian which comes from pineapple, clove oil and oregano really helped I felt the effects of them within a few days. I used xylitol to help break up biofilms. Xylitol toothpaste works great for problems with the teeth. They can get xylitol from corn and most corn is GMO so try to find organic. Stevia has been shown to work very good at helping to kill Lyme I have seen many studies showing very good results but I have not tried it. I don’t know much about stevia.

I had candida and some things that really help me was Kelp make sure it does not come from contaminated water, coconut oil, chlorophyll capsules, vinegar, and again the bromelian. Try to stay away from GMO products it throws your digestive balance off and has been shown to damage the intestines and stomach. Most corn and wheat is GMO, Some bananas are.

Deep Healing

There some nutrients that will help with deep healing like Oleic Acid found in olive oil helps heal the Nrf2 pathways but be careful because just like vitamin A it can be toxic to the body if you get too much.

Vitamin D3 and CoQ10 help with deep down energy and repair but have to be taken with an oil because they are oil soluble.

Hyaluronic acid and glucosamine chondroiton help with joint and skin repair.

Flavanoids help with repair and inflammation. Most fruits and vegetables contain them but some very good sources of those are parsleys, onions, blue berries, tea, bananas, citrus fruits, dark chocolate, red wine, skin on peanuts and sophora root.

Lyme and other illnesses can attack the smooth muscle which has effects on the whole body. All the things mentioned above help smooth muscle heal but we need to get ammino acids. There are various kinds of ammino acids.

Lysine which is found in catfish, beef, chicken, azuki bean, milk, pumpkin or squash seeds, eggs, peas, lentils, beans, and quinoa.

Methionine is found in eggs, sesame seeds, cheese, brazil nuts, chicken, nuts, fish, pork, wheat germ is usually Gmo now days, peanuts and lentils.

Isoleucine is found in eggs, turkey, chicken, legumes, cereal grains, almonds, oats, beans, brown rice, sea weed make sure it is not from a source of contaminated water.

Becareful with the kelp and other seaweed, they are high in iodine. We need iodine but if we get too much it is not good.

Tryptophon is found in eggs, spirulina, cod, cheese, sesame seeds, pork, lamb, chocolate, milk, rice, quino, potoatoes, tamarind, banana, and beans and legumes.

Myoinoitol is found in fruit, beans and nuts.

Threonine is found in poultry, cottage cheese and other milk products, fish, meat, lentils, black turtle beans, and sesame seeds.

Glutamine is found in cauliflower, eggs, broccoli, cod, spinach, milk, chicken kidney, quinoa, grapefruit, peanuts, almonds and brown rice.

Illness also causes vitamin deficiencies. Usually vitamins and minerals like zinc, vitamin c, vitamin A, and vitamin E. Be careful with vitamin E if you take too much it can damage your liver.

We also lose a lot of the B complexes. I prefer getting them from natural sources because they can drop your sugar levels. Good sources of them are cereal grains, lentils, fish, eggs, whole milk, meat, pork, eggs, nuts, chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables, potatoes, liver, beans, yogurt, avocado, sweet potatoes, mushrooms and broccoli. We also need to eat foods high in Omega3 fatty acids they are an antioxidant just Like vitamin C

I added resvratol because it helps with nerve damage it is found in wine chocolate and dark berries. Some other things that help with nerve damage are the Omega3 fatty acids, Good sources of those are camelina, purslane, dark colored berries, kiwi, goose berry, perilla, chia seed, flax seed, and nuts.

Polyphenols enhance the immune system, also helps heal the lungs. Some of the best sources are cloves, anise, cocoa powder, oregano, celery seeds, flax seeds, nuts, elderberries, black olives, chicory, dried sweet basil, plums, most dark berries like black berries, and ginger.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is good for the cardiovascular system. It also has the ability to rehabilitate other intioxidants. Your body produces it so detoxing and supporting the renal system should help with it. Some sources of it are meat and organs from grass feed animals, broccoli, spinach, and postatoes.

Anthocyanins are neuro protective. You get those from dark colored fruits and vegetables. Black berries, plums, cran berries, blue berries, bananas (careful some are GMO), red cabage, asparagus, grapes and wine.

Biotin regulates gene expression. Some food sources are egg yolk, liver, whole grain (Non GMO), cheese, pork, salmon,

If you having thyroid problems you may want to pay attention to your iodine because it is a key component of thyroid hormones. Food sources of it are seafood, seaweed (make sure it does not come from contaminated water), dairy products, grains, (Non GMO), poultry and eggs.

Selenium is part of the amino acid processes for gene encoding and regulation of the bodies cells.

If you are having thyroid problems ginsenosides may help. It has been shown to stimulate pituatary glands and adrenal. It is found in ginseng.

Asparagine is kind of like the bodies back up battery. It is necessary for the deep down energy your body needs. Sources of it are asparagus, potatoes, legumes, nuts and seeds like pumpkin and squash.

Quercetin is an antioxident and provides energy to the mitochondria. Quercetin also helps keep the heart healthy. Foods that contain it are canned capers, onions, red and dark colored produce. Quercetin is lost during cooking so the less you cook it the better.

Lignans reduce risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer, also know for helping with chronic fatigue. Safe for women it will help men but will do the opposite if used in to high of a dose. Food sources of it are ground flax seed, sunflower seeds, kale, broccoli, cashews, and berries.

Sulphanes help fight neurodegenerative disease and cancer. Good sources of them are eggs, broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, cabbage and a little in onions.

Valine and tyrosine is and amino acids that helps with liver disease and metabolic disorders. They also aid in regulating the abosrbtion of other amino acids. Sources of valine and tyrosine are cheese, beef, lamb, chicken, pork, chicken, nuts, fish, beans, mushrooms, pumpkin and squash seeds.

Lycopene helps protect the heart and studies have shown that it could possibly help heal some damage. Sources of Lycopene are cooked tomatoes, grapefruit, papay, purple cabbage, mango, and carrots.

Love and Happiness

Love and happiness are just as important to healing as the food. There are some foods that will help your body produce the thins love does but it is not as effective as the real thing. The hard part is there is not a lot of love for those who are ill especially those who have Lyme. The things you want your body to produce are dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, vasopressin, endorphens. They have found when you are happy or in love your bodies immune system is healthier and it even makes your smooth muscle healthier. I do not believe in taking supplements for these because your body can get used to it and then it will have a difficult time producing it.

Dopamine is produced in your body from L-tyrosine. It is found things like mustard greens, fava beans, duck, chicken, white cheese, oatmeal, seaweed, and dark chocolate.

Tryptophan , good sources are turkey, chicken, pumpkin and squash seeds, cheese, cashews, almonds, and seseme seeds.

Serotonin is synthesized from tryptophan it requires good carbs to be produced.

Oxytocin is produced when you exercise, when you share, human contact, aroma therapy especially vinilla and Lavender, laughing, doing acts of kindness, sunlight and scenes that make you happy, even thinking of things that make you happy, positive social interaction even good social network interactions have been shown to increase the bodies oxytocin levels.

Vassopressin will be produced if your electrolytes are balanced.

Endorphins are produced when we exercise, eating chocolate can also stimulate endorphins. Capsaicin found in hot peppers and good carbs can stimulate Endorphins. I know this one will be controversial and I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see peer reviewed studies but marijuana also helps the body produce endorphins. In the studies they were consumed.

This is just a rough version when I get a chance I will do a little better with this. I know it needs work.
