Reducing uric acid/gout.

Written by Lee Stevenson, sorry I am not the best editor.

This is not medical advice I am writing this for educational purposes. Supplements should be taken with the guidance of a qualified and experienced naturopath.

If uric acid levels are high a person will react to things that contain purines like peanut butter and aged or fermented foods. Often time high uric acid levels can cause high ammonia levels. Uric acid increases TH17 levels so this can cause joint pain and deterioration and muscle wasting , fatigue because oxidative phosphorylation can become inhibited causing low ATP levels. A person well start developing food sensitivities. It may be necessary to avoid foods high in purines until a person has gotten their uric acid levels down. Uric acid can also cause kidney stones, it can damage the renals system and can cause interstitial cystitis, vaginosis and vulvadynia. Uric acid is needed by the body and in normal levels the body uses it as an antioxidant. Inflammation , oxidative stress, toxins, glyphosate and eating GMOs cause high uric acid levels. Vaccine injury can cause high uric acid levels. The covid injections are damaging the body in a way it is causing high uric acid levels. Uric acid increases renin-angiotensin expression when over expressed it causes cardiovascular disease. Mushrooms can increase uric acid levels. Processed sugar and fructose should be avoided. Excess alcohol consumption can cause high uric acid levels. If a diet is deficient in glycine or tryptophan it will increase uric acid levels. Proper sulfation is need to prevent high uric acid levels. Uric acid is needed to scavenge nitric oxide. Low hippurate levels can cause high uric acid levels. It is produced from consuming foods that contain phenylalanine and polyphenols and converted by our microbiota. High uric acid levels can cause obesity and diabetes. It can cause autoimmunity. Excess uric acid can cause gout and autoimmune diseases like lupus.

Excess stress or trauma can increase uric acid levels. Taking excess niacin can cause high uric acid levels. Meditation and simplifying life reduces levels of uric acid.

If the immune system has been damaged it can cause high uric acid levels.

High uric acid levels could be a sign that there is something causing excess cell death. The underlying cause of the high uric acid levels need to be addressed or taking supplements to reduce uric acid will not help.

Uric acid increases NADPH oxidase expression which can cause excess oxidative stress. High uric acid levels can be a sign insulin levels are too high.

Exercise reduces uric acid levels. Reducing intake of animal protein reduces uric acid levels.

Nitric oxide is low in those with high uric acid levels. This could be cause by metabolic issues or a diet deficient in nitrate or nitrites. Nitrates can be found in dark leafy greens and beet juice.

Foods that help reduce uric acid levels are pomegranate, artichoke, cherries, lemon juice, sprouts, celery, hibiscus tea, birch bark tea, berries, Brazil nuts, parsely, beans and legumes, celery, pumpkin, oatmeal, water mellon, coffee, milk, goat milk, walnuts, pecans, sugar cane extract, tomatoes, brewers yeast, broccoli, organ meats, and walnuts. Rooibos tea reduces uric acid levels. Foods high in potassium like bananas and citrus fruit reduces uric acid levels. Brown or black rice can help to reduce uric acid levels.

Vitamin C helps speed up the removal of uric acid from the body but high dose can actually cause the body to retain uric acid. Apple cider vinegar also reduces uric acid levels.

Consuming Omega 3 oils help to reduce uric acid levels.

Zinc low levels can impair the the urea cycle this can also cause high ammonia levels.

Alternate between magnesium citrate and magnesium chloride.

Wild yam, most species reduce uric acid including smilax.

Burdock root

Grape seed extract

Harpago phytum

Devil’s claw

Lemon grass

Baking soda a tablespoon in a cup of water. This should not be done too often or it can over alkalize the bladder.

Tumeric

jerusalem artichoke root or chicory root

Bergamot

Biacalein found in skullcap and plantain herb reduces uric acid.

Wild yam

B vitamins help to reduce uric acid levels except niacin in excess it can cause gout.

Low dose molybdenum

Betaine (trymethylglycine, TMG)

Pyridoxal 5-phosphate (P5P)

Alfalfa

Microbes that reduce uric acid:

Lactobacillus fermentum

Lactobacillus reuteri

Lactobacillus casei shiroto

Lactobacillus rhamnosus

Lactobacillus deulbrueckii

Lactobacillus deulbrueckii

Lactobacillus brevis

Lactobacillus gasseri

Most Bacillus species

Streptococcus thermophilus

Roseburia species

Rumminococcus species

Blautia species

Oscillospira species

Lautropia mirabilis

These species of microbes increase uric acid when overgrown:

Lactobacillus iners

Candida species

Pathogenic Clostridium

Escherica species

Desulfovibrio species

Klebsiella species

Pepotstreptococcus species

Corynebacterium species

Cryptococcus species

Poryphyromonas species
