Who is Babylon The Great?

Babylon the Great who is she? We know she cannot be a political entity because the kings of the earth and merchants will mourn over her death. We know she would claim to be God’s representative on earth and convince many to follow her in her false worship. Baal worship was very similar to true worship but was not acceptable to God. Many of Gods people in times past were lured into Baal worship. We have to know what God requires in order to be able to avoid being part of Babylon the great. 

(Jeremiah 51:7, 8) Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of Jehovah; She made all the earth drunk. From her wine the nations have drunk; That is why the nations have gone mad.  8 Suddenly Babylon has fallen and is broken. Wail over her! Get balsam for her pain; perhaps she may be healed.”

We know the bible tells us not to put our faith in man and human governments but to put our faith in the Heavenly Kingdom. The Harlot also known as Babylon the Great will prostitute herself out to governments so she will be heavily involved in the political system and have a heavy influence on it.

(Revelation 17:1, 2) One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me: “Come, I will show you the judgment on the great prostitute who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and earth’s inhabitants were made drunk with the wine of her sexual immorality.”

(Revelation 18:2, 3) And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons and a place where every unclean spirit and every unclean and hated bird lurks! 3 For because of the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, all the nations have fallen victim, and the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth became rich owing to the power of her shameless luxury

(Revelation 17:3-5) . . .. 4 The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and she was adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, and she had in her hand a golden cup that was full of disgusting things and the unclean things of her sexual immorality. 5 On her forehead was written a name, a mystery: “Babylon the Great, the mother of the prostitutes and of the disgusting things of the earth.. . .

It is clear that Babylon the Great represents an international entity but who is it? Babylon the Greats influence will be world wide. God is going to put it into mans heart to destroy Babylon the Great and those who refuse to get out of her.

(Revelation 17:15-18) . . .. 16 And the ten horns that you saw and the wild beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked, and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire. 17 For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, yes, to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished. 18 And the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.”

(Isaiah 47:1, 2) 47 Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon. Sit down on the ground where there is no throne, O daughter of the Chal·deʹans, For never again will people call you delicate and pampered.  2 Take a hand mill and grind flour. Remove your veil. Strip off your skirt, uncover your legs. Cross over the rivers.

We get a clue in Isaiah and Jeremiah when Jehovah is speaking about Babylon. He is mentioning things that false religion participated in, things he forbids us to do. Things like casting spells, going to fortune tellers and using idols and images in their worship.

(Isaiah 47:11-15) 11 But calamity will come upon you, And none of your charms will stop it. Adversity will befall you; you will not be able to avert it. Sudden ruin will come upon you like you have never known. 12 Go ahead, then, with your spells and your many sorceries, With which you have toiled from your youth. Perhaps you may be able to benefit; Perhaps you may strike people with awe. 13 You have grown weary with the multitude of your advisers. Let them stand up now and save you, Those who worship the heavens, who gaze at the stars, Those giving out knowledge at the new moons About the things that will come upon you. 14 Look! They are like stubble. A fire will burn them up. They cannot save themselves from the power of the flame. These are not charcoals for keeping warm, And this is not a fire to sit in front of. 15 So your charmers will become to you, Those with whom you toiled from your youth. They will wander, each one in his own direction. There will be no one to save you.

(Jeremiah 50:1-3) 50 The word that Jehovah spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chal·deʹans, through Jeremiah the prophet:  2 “Declare it among the nations and proclaim it. Raise a signal and proclaim it. Do not hide anything! Say, ‘Babylon has been captured. Bel has been put to shame. Merʹo·dach has become terrified. Her images have been put to shame. Her disgusting idols have become terrified.’  3 For a nation has come against her from the north. It makes her land an object of horror; No one is dwelling in her. Both man and beast have taken flight; They have gone away.”

(Jeremiah 50:38) 38 There is a devastation on her waters, and they will be dried up. For it is a land of graven images, And because of their frightful visions they keep acting with madness.

Rulers of Babylon exalted themselves over Jehovah and again God mentions false worship being involved. They had stolen the Gold from the temple of the Israelite’s and were drinking from the cups. That was something only certain ones among Israel had a right to do. It was up to God who had that right so they were taunting God by deliberately disobeying him.

(Daniel 5:22, 23) 22 “But you, his son Bel·shazʹzar, have not humbled your heart, although you knew all of this. 23 Instead, you exalted yourself against the Lord of the heavens, and you had them bring you the vessels of his house. Then you and your nobles, your concubines and your secondary wives drank wine from them and praised gods of silver and gold, of copper, iron, wood, and stone, gods that see nothing and hear nothing and know nothing. But you have not glorified the God in whose hand is your breath and all your ways.

(Revelation 18:23, 24) 23 No light of a lamp will ever shine in you again, and no voice of a bridegroom and of a bride will ever be heard in you again; for your merchants were the top-ranking men of the earth, and by your spiritistic practices all the nations were misled. 24 Yes, in her was found the blood of prophets and of holy ones and of all those who have been slaughtered on the earth.”

(Deuteronomy 18:10, 11) There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, anyone practicing magic, anyone who looks for omens, a sorcerer, 11 anyone binding others with a spell, anyone who consults a spirit medium or a fortune-teller, or anyone who inquires of the dead.

So you can see the prostitution is spiritual prostitution.

(Leviticus 20:6) 6 “‘As for the person who turns to the spirit mediums and the fortune-tellers so as to commit spiritual prostitution with them, I will certainly turn against that person and cut him off from his people. . .

(Exodus 34:14-17) 14 You must not bow down to another god, for Jehovah is known for requiring exclusive devotion. Yes, he is a God who requires exclusive devotion. 15 Be careful not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, because when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to their gods, someone will invite you and you will eat from his sacrifice. 16 Then you will surely take some of their daughters for your sons, and their daughters will prostitute themselves to their gods and cause your sons to prostitute themselves to their gods. 17 “You must not make gods of cast metal.

So we can see the harlot riding the beast is Babylon the Great which is false religion who claims to have the right to drink from the golden cup but in actuality are like those in Babylon they would be arrogant and unwilling to change. They would put their faith in worldly things and have a lot of influence on world governments. Instead of putting their faith in the heavenly kingdom they would believe they can change the world.

(James 4:4) 4 Adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is making himself an enemy of God.

(Revelation 18:4-8) 4 And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. 5 For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. 6 Repay her in the way she treated others, yes, pay her back double for the things she has done; in the cup she has mixed, mix a double portion for her. 7 To the extent that she glorified herself and lived in shameless luxury, to that extent give her torment and mourning. For she keeps saying in her heart: ‘I sit as queen, and I am not a widow, and I will never see mourning.’ 8 That is why in one day her plagues will come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire, because Jehovah God, who judged her, is strong.

There would be many prostitutes spreading the false worship. So there would be many types of false religion linked to Babylon the great.

(Revelation 17:15) 15 He said to me: “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is sitting, mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues.

If we do not want to be a part of Babylon we must worship in truth. We must follow the path Jesus laid out. We are not to use idols or images in our worship. We are to worship only Jehovah God and to approach him in prayer to our king Jesus Christ. The bible tells us we cannot be a part of Babylon and a part of true worship.

(2 Corinthians 6:14-17) 14 Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? 15 Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Beʹli·al? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I will reside among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 “‘Therefore, get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take you in.. . .

We do not want to prostitute ourselves to false religion.

(Judges 2:17) 17 But they refused to listen even to the judges and would prostitute themselves to other gods and bow down to them. They quickly turned aside from the way in which their forefathers had walked, those who had obeyed the commandments of Jehovah. They failed to do that.

(Judges 8:33) 33 As soon as Gidʹe·on died, the Israelites again committed spiritual prostitution with the Baʹals, and they appointed Baʹal-beʹrith as their god. . .

(Psalm 106:35-39) 35 But they mingled with the nations And adopted their ways. 36 They kept serving their idols, And these became a snare to them. 37 They would sacrifice their sons And their daughters to demons. 38 They kept spilling innocent blood, The blood of their own sons and daughters Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Caʹnaan; And the land was polluted with bloodshed. 39 They became unclean by their works; They committed spiritual prostitution by their deeds. . .

We cannot claim to love God yet participate in the things the world does that our heavenly father does not approve of.

(Matthew 6:24) 24 “No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for Riches. . .

(1 John 2:15-17) 15 Do not love either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 16 because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but the one who does the will of God remains forever.

(2 Peter 2:1-3) 2 However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among you. These will quietly bring in destructive sects, and they will even disown the owner who bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves. 2 Furthermore, many will follow their brazen conduct, and because of them the way of the truth will be spoken of abusively. 3 Also, they will greedily exploit you with counterfeit words. But their judgment, decided long ago, is not moving slowly, and their destruction is not sleeping. . .

We know the bible prophesied when the last of the apostles died true worship would seize for a time. Then it would be restored. We cannot let Babylon the Great deceive us because now more then ever true worship is very important. The bible made it clear there is only one truth.

(Revelation 21:2) I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband

(Colossians 2:8, 9) 8 Look out that no one takes you captive by means of the philosophy and empty deception according to human tradition, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ; 9 because it is in him that all the fullness of the divine quality dwells bodily.

(Isaiah 1:24-26) 24 Therefore the true Lord, Jehovah of armies, The Powerful One of Israel, declares: “Ah! I will rid myself of my adversaries, And I will take revenge on my enemies. 25 I will turn my hand against you, I will smelt away your dross as with lye, And I will remove all your impurities. 26 I will restore your judges as in the beginning And your advisers as at the start. After this you will be called City of Righteousness, Faithful Town. . .

God requires exclusive devotion, he is the one true God.

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) 4 Now concerning the eating of food offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world and that there is no God but one. 5 For even though there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6 there is actually to us one God, the Father, from whom all things are and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and we through him.

(Matthew 23:8-12) . . .. 9 Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One. 10 Neither be called leaders, for your Leader is one, the Christ. 11 But the greatest one among you must be your minister. 12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. . .

War of Armageddon.

 

These scriptures are from The New World Translation.

Before the final war something has to occur. Those who are not worshiping in truth will be revealed. Most know now that this is Babylon The Great mentioned in Revelations.

(2 Thessalonians 2:7-12) ⁷ True, the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work; but only till he who is right now acting as a restraint gets to be out of the way. ⁸ Then, indeed, the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will do away with by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his presence. ⁹ But the lawless one’s presence is according to the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and portents ¹⁰ and with every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth that they might be saved. ¹¹ So that is why God lets an operation of error go to them, that they may get to believing the lie, ¹² in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.

(1 Timothy 4:1-5) 4 However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, ² by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; ³ forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth. ⁴ The reason for this is that every creation of God is fine, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, ⁵ for it is sanctified through God’s word and prayer over . . .

This will result in Babylon figuratively falling. So we would see Babylon for what she is more and more. Her sins would be exposed for all to see. Some will choose to be blind to Babylons sins and choose to remain in her even as her demise becomes obvious.

(Revelation 18:1-3) 18 After these things I saw another angel descending from heaven, with great authority; and the earth was lighted up from his glory. ² And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons and a lurking place of every unclean exhalation and a lurking place of every unclean and hated bird! ³ For because of the wine of the anger of her fornication all the nations have fallen [victim], and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the traveling merchants of the earth became rich due to the power of her shameless luxury.”

⁴ And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues. ⁵ For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. ⁶ Render to her even as she herself rendered, and do to her twice as much, yes, twice the number of the things she did; in the cup in which she put a mixture put twice as much of the mixture for her. ⁷ To the extent that she glorified herself and lived in shameless luxury, to that extent give her torment and mourning. For in her heart she keeps saying, ‘I sit a queen, and I am no widow, and I shall never see mourning.’ ⁸ That is why in one day her plagues will come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire, because Jehovah God, who judged her, is strong.

Next Babylon the great will be brought to ruin. All the nations will turn on false worship and destroy it.

(Jeremiah 51:43-47) . . .. ⁴⁴ And I will turn my attention upon Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth what he has swallowed. And to him nations will stream no more. Also, the wall itself of Babylon must fall. ⁴⁵ “Get out of the midst of her, O my people, and provide each one his soul with escape from the burning anger of Jehovah. ⁴⁶ Or otherwise YOUR heart will be timid, and YOU will become afraid because of the report that is to be heard in the land. And in one year the report will actually come, and after it in another year there will be the report and violence in the earth and ruler against ruler. ⁴⁷ Therefore, look! there are days coming, and I will turn my attention upon the graven images of Babylon; and all her own land will become ashamed, and all her own slain ones will fall in the midst of her. . .

Many know the harlot is a representation of false religion. So the harlot would be Babylon or false religion. God will put it in mans heart to destroy false religion.

(Revelation 17:15-18) ¹⁵ And he says to me: “The waters that you saw, where the harlot is sitting, mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues. ¹⁶ And the ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire. ¹⁷ For God put [it] into their hearts to carry out his thought, even to carry out [their] one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished. ¹⁸ And the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.. . .

The final war what will it be who will fight it and who will survive it? To understand that we need to understand who the key figures are in this war. But we need to identify when this war was ready to take place.

(Matthew 24:3-14) ³ While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” ⁴ And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; ⁵ for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. ⁶ YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. ⁷ “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. ⁸ All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress. ⁹ “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. ¹⁰ Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. ¹¹ And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; ¹² and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. ¹³ But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. ¹⁴ And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

(2 Timothy 3:1-7) 3 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. ² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, ³ having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, ⁴ betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. ⁶ For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, ⁷ always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

We will have those who will claim these things have always occurred. They have not occurred on a world wide scale and to the degree they are now. Also the news of the kingdom had not yet been preached to the entire earth as it has now. This was also prophesied and many would not take note because of their skepticism until it is too late.

(2 Peter 3:3-7) . . .For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires ⁴ and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.” ⁵ For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; ⁶ and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. ⁷ But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men. . .

(Matthew 24:36-39) ³⁶ “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. ³⁷ For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. ³⁸ For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; ³⁹ and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be. . .

(Luke 17:28-30) ²⁸ Likewise, just as it occurred in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building. ²⁹ But on the day that Lot came out of Sod′om it rained fire and sulphur from heaven and destroyed them all. ³⁰ The same way it will be on that day when the Son of man is to be revealed. . .

Who is Gog of Magog? When the bible speaks of the attack by it , it also speaks of the attack by the king North and by the kings of the earth. These do not seem to be separate attacks but the same attack under separate names. Also take note that God’s people would be living in peace so they would not be involved in wars.

(Ezekiel 38:1-6) 38 And the word of Jehovah continued to occur to me, saying: ² “Son of man, set your face against Gog [of] the land of Ma′gog, the head chieftain of Me′shech and Tu′bal, and prophesy against him. ³ And you must say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Here I am against you, O Gog, you head chieftain of Me′shech and Tu′bal. ⁴ And I shall certainly turn you around and put hooks in your jaws and bring you forth with all your military force, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in perfect taste, a numerous congregation, with large shield and buckler, all of them handling swords; ⁵ Persia, E·thi·o′pi·a and Put with them, all of them with buckler and helmet; ⁶ Go′mer and all its bands, the house of To·gar′mah, [of] the remotest parts of the north, and all its bands, many peoples with you.

(Daniel 11:40-45) ⁴⁰ “And in the time of [the] end the king of the south will engage with him in a pushing, and against him the king of the north will storm with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships; and he will certainly enter into the lands and flood over and pass through. ⁴¹ He will also actually enter into the land of the Decoration, and there will be many [lands] that will be made to stumble. But these are the ones that will escape out of his hand, E′dom and Mo′ab and the main part of the sons of Am′mon. ⁴² And he will keep thrusting out his hand against the lands; and as regards the land of Egypt, she will not prove to be an escapee. ⁴³ And he will actually rule over the hidden treasures of the gold and the silver and over all the desirable things of Egypt. And the Lib′y·ans and the E·thi·o′pi·ans will be at his steps. ⁴⁴ “But there will be reports that will disturb him, out of the sunrising and out of the north, and he will certainly go forth in a great rage in order to annihilate and to devote many to destruction. ⁴⁵ And he will plant his palatial tents between [the] grand sea and the holy mountain of Decoration; and he will have to come all the way to his end, and there will be no helper for him. . .

The bible shows that all the kings of the earth will be involved. So many nations will be involved in this attack.

(Revelation 16:13-16) ¹³ And I saw three unclean inspired expressions [that looked] like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the wild beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. ¹⁴ They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and perform signs, and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty. ¹⁵ “Look! I am coming as a thief. Happy is the one that stays awake and keeps his outer garments, that he may not walk naked and people look upon his shamefulness.” ¹⁶ And they gathered them together to the place that is called in Hebrew Har–Ma·ged′on. . .

So who will this war be against? ?We know the lamb is Jesus. We also know God has seated him on the thrown. So it is clear that they are going to wage war with Jesus. But who else? If you notice the bible tells us also those called and chosen and faithful. So the war will be against Jesus and those God has chosen who follow Jesus as our king and remain faithful to him.

(Revelation 17:12-14) ¹² “And the ten horns that you saw mean ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings one hour with the wild beast. ¹³ These have one thought, and so they give their power and authority to the wild beast. ¹⁴ These will battle with the Lamb, but, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them. Also, those called and chosen and faithful with him [will do so]. . .

(Revelation 19:19) ¹⁹ And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army. . .

When they attack God’s people they will view them as defenseless because they do not have weapons and are peaceable. But God will fight for them , he will give Jesus the command.

(Ezekiel 38:8, 9) ⁸ “‘“After many days you will be given attention. In the final part of the years you will come to the land [of people] brought back from the sword, collected together out of many peoples, onto the mountains of Israel, that have proved to be a constantly devastated place; even [a land] that has been brought forth from the peoples, [where] they have dwelt in security, all of them. ⁹ And you will be bound to come up. Like a storm you will come in. Like clouds to cover the land you will become, you and all your bands and many peoples with you.”’

(Zechariah 2:7-9) ⁷ “Hey there, Zion! Make your escape, you who are dwelling with the daughter of Babylon. ⁸ For this is what Jehovah of armies has said, ‘Following after [the] glory he has sent me to the nations that were despoiling YOU people; for he that is touching YOU is touching my eyeball. ⁹ For here I am waving my hand against them, and they will have to become spoil to their slaves.’ And YOU people will certainly know that Jehovah of armies himself has sent me. . .

God will repay them for the tribulation they have caused. But those who are suffering will receive relief from God.

(2 Thessalonians 1:6-10) ⁶ This takes into account that it is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for YOU, ⁷ but, to YOU who suffer tribulation, relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels ⁸ in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. ⁹ These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength, ¹⁰ at the time he comes to be glorified in connection with his holy ones and to be regarded in that day with wonder in connection with all those who exercised faith, because the witness we gave met with faith among YOU.

The bible tells us who will survive this war.

(Revelation 7:13-17) ¹³ And in response one of the elders said to me: “These who are dressed in the white robes, who are they and where did they come from?” ¹⁴ So right away I said to him: “My lord, you are the one that knows.” And he said to me: “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ That is why they are before the throne of God; and they are rendering him sacred service day and night in his temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread his tent over them. ¹⁶ They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down upon them nor any scorching heat, ¹⁷ because the Lamb, who is in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them, and will guide them to fountains of waters of life. And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes.”

God’s great day is very near so we must prepare our hearts and do our best to worship with an honest heart.

(Zephaniah 2:1-3) 2 Gather yourselves together, yes, do the gathering, O nation not paling in shame. ² Before [the] statute gives birth to [anything], [before the] day has passed by just like chaff, before there comes upon YOU people the burning anger of Jehovah, before there comes upon YOU the day of Jehovah’s anger, ³ seek Jehovah, all YOU meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably YOU may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger. . .

(Malachi 4:1) 4 “For, look! the day is coming that is burning like the furnace, and all the presumptuous ones and all those doing wickedness must become as stubble. And the day that is coming will certainly devour them,” Jehovah of armies has said, “so that it will not leave to them either root or bough. . .

The kingdom that remains will not be destroyed.

(Daniel 2:44) ⁴⁴ “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

God did not form the earth for nothing he created it to be dwelt upon. The original purpose that he command Adam and Eve will be fulfilled.

(Isaiah 45:18) ¹⁸ For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited:. . .

(Genesis 1:28) Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”

So we must do our best to continue to be meek and mild tempered the reward is well worth it. In the new earth there will be no more suffering, pain or tears.

(Matthew 5:5) ⁵ “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth. . .

(Psalm 37:29) ²⁹ The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it. . .

(Revelation 21:1-4) 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. ² I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. ⁴ And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.. . .

Beast and Harlot of Revelation.

There is a lot of confusion on who the beast and the harlot are in revelations. Hopefully this will help to clarify it. Keep in mind the beast would be trying to build a one world order or government. The harlot would exert influence over the beast so they cannot be one and the same. One thing you will notice the harlot can also be a part of the beast that is trying to form a one world order. When you compare the scriptures it makes it clear the harlot and Babylon the great mentioned in Revelations are the same entity. The bible also identifies how to tell who the harlot is.

Beast in the bible represented nations and in some instances subordinate nations are represented by horns you can see this in the book of Daniel.

(Daniel 7:4-6) ⁴ “The first one was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I kept on beholding until its wings were plucked out, and it was lifted up from the earth and was made to stand up on two feet just like a man, and there was given to it the heart of a man. ⁵ “And, see there! another beast, a second one, it being like a bear. And on one side it was raised up, and there were three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and this is what they were saying to it, ‘Get up, eat much flesh.’ ⁶ “After this I kept on beholding, and, see there! another [beast], one like a leopard, but it had four wings of a flying creature on its back. And the beast had four heads, and there was given to it rulership indeed.

(Daniel 7:11, 12) ¹¹ “I kept on beholding at that time because of the sound of the grandiose words that the horn was speaking; I kept on beholding until the beast was killed and its body was destroyed and it was given to the burning fire. ¹² But as for the rest of the beasts, their rulerships were taken away, and there was a lengthening in life given to them for a time and a season. . .

We know this prophecy in Daniel was fulfilled many years ago.

(Daniel 8:20-22) ²⁰ “The ram that you saw possessing the two horns [stands for] the kings of Me′di·a and Persia. ²¹ And the hairy he-goat [stands for] the king of Greece; and as for the great horn that was between its eyes, it [stands for] the first king. ²² And that one having been broken, so that there were four that finally stood up instead of it, there are four kingdoms from [his] nation that will stand up, but not with his power.

Many confuse the harlot in Revelation with the beast. But the harlot will sit on the back of the beast. In other words the harlot would exert influence over the beast.

(Revelation 17:3-5) ³ And he carried me away in [the power of the] spirit into a wilderness. And I caught sight of a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored wild beast that was full of blasphemous names and that had seven heads and ten horns. ⁴ And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and was adorned with gold and precious stone and pearls and had in her hand a golden cup that was full of disgusting things and the unclean things of her fornication. ⁵ And upon her forehead was written a name, a mystery: “Babylon the Great, the mother of the harlots and of the disgusting things of the earth.. . .

The harlot would oppose true worship.

(Revelation 19:2) . . .For he has executed judgment upon the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he has avenged the blood of his slaves at her hand. . .

(Jeremiah 50:2) “Tell [it] among the nations and publish [it]. And lift up a signal; publish [it]. Hide nothing, O men. Say, ‘Babylon has been captured. Bel has been put to shame. Mer′o·dach has become terrified. Her images have been put to shame. Her dungy idols have become terrified.’

Many believe much of the prophecies in Daniel were fulfilled but it says it is in the time of the end. So it will be in the last days that much of the prophecies in Daniel are fulfilled.

(Daniel 8:19) ¹⁹ And he went on to say: “Here I am causing you to know what will occur in the final part of the denunciation, because it is for the appointed time of [the] end.

In exposing false religion a death blow to the great harlot was given. Her sins were exposed, it would become obvious who she is and who she is committing political prostitution with. In other words the woman would heavily influence governments instead of putting faith in God. Also the sins kept secret the harlot has committed would be exposed.

(Revelation 18:1-8) 18 After these things I saw another angel descending from heaven, with great authority; and the earth was lighted up from his glory. ² And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons and a lurking place of every unclean exhalation and a lurking place of every unclean and hated bird! ³ For because of the wine of the anger of her fornication all the nations have fallen [victim], and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the traveling merchants of the earth became rich due to the power of her shameless luxury.” ⁴ And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues. ⁵ For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. ⁶ Render to her even as she herself rendered, and do to her twice as much, yes, twice the number of the things she did; in the cup in which she put a mixture put twice as much of the mixture for her. ⁷ To the extent that she glorified herself and lived in shameless luxury, to that extent give her torment and mourning. For in her heart she keeps saying, ‘I sit a queen, and I am no widow, and I shall never see mourning.’ ⁸ That is why in one day her plagues will come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire, because Jehovah God, who judged her, is strong.

We are in the final part of the days. Many prophecies had minor fulfillments but had not yet happened on a world wide scale. Things have gotten much worse and are now happening on a world wide scale and much more often.

(Matthew 24:3-8) ³ While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” ⁴ And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; ⁵ for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. ⁶ YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. ⁷ “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. ⁸ All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

The bible said that many would claim to be following Jesus but be misleading many. They would not obey God’s laws.

(Mark 13:4-6) ⁴ “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are destined to come to a conclusion?” ⁵ So Jesus started to say to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU. ⁶ Many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and will mislead many. . .

When the one who is promoting false worship was revealed it would be a sign Jesus has returned. In other words apostasy would exist for a certain amount of time and then Jesus would return and restore true worship and would expose false worship. So for a time false worship would dominate things.

(2 Thessalonians 2:1-3) 2 However, brothers, respecting the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we request of YOU ² not to be quickly shaken from YOUR reason nor to be excited either through an inspired expression or through a verbal message or through a letter as though from us, to the effect that the day of Jehovah is here. ³ Let no one seduce YOU in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. . .

(Matthew 7:21-23) ²¹ “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. ²² Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ ²³ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness. . .

The beast springs from other nations or rulers that have fallen. Again we see the scarlet woman exerting influence over the beast. Mountains represent those in positions of power. So you can see the harlot is a religious entity and not a nation and that the beast is a political power.

(Revelation 17:9-14) ⁹ “Here is where the intelligence that has wisdom comes in: The seven heads mean seven mountains, where the woman sits on top. ¹⁰ And there are seven kings: five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet arrived, but when he does arrive he must remain a short while. ¹¹ And the wild beast that was but is not, it is also itself an eighth [king], but springs from the seven, and it goes off into destruction. ¹² “And the ten horns that you saw mean ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings one hour with the wild beast. ¹³ These have one thought, and so they give their power and authority to the wild beast. ¹⁴ These will battle with the Lamb, but, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them. Also, those called and chosen and faithful with him [will do so].. . .

If you notice the second wild beast will come from the first wild beast who took a death blow but healed. This would be the ultimate rebellion against God. Just as in the Garden of Eden they chose to rule the earth without God this is they try replacing God’s rule over the earth with a human entity. The first beast the League of Nations took a death blow. Years later the United Nations sprung from the League of Nations. As you can see the beast is even going to replace religion. This is the one world order they are trying to form in rebellion against God. Just as Adam and Eve decided they do not need Gods guidance and wisdom man will do a finale act of rebellion by instituting what Adam and Eve did on a world wide scale. 

(Revelation 13:11-18) ¹¹ And I saw another wild beast ascending out of the earth, and it had two horns like a lamb, but it began speaking as a dragon. ¹² And it exercises all the authority of the first wild beast in its sight. And it makes the earth and those who dwell in it worship the first wild beast, whose death-stroke got healed. ¹³ And it performs great signs, so that it should even make fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the sight of mankind. ¹⁴ And it misleads those who dwell on the earth, because of the signs that were granted it to perform in the sight of the wild beast, while it tells those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the wild beast that had the sword-stroke and yet revived. ¹⁵ And there was granted it to give breath to the image of the wild beast, so that the image of the wild beast should both speak and cause to be killed all those who would not in any way worship the image of the wild beast. ¹⁶ And it puts under compulsion all persons, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead, ¹⁷ and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name. ¹⁸ Here is where wisdom comes in: Let the one that has intelligence calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number; and . . .

The harlot that helped the beast gain power will be brought down along with other false worship.

(Revelation 17:15-18) ¹⁵ And he says to me: “The waters that you saw, where the harlot is sitting, mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues. ¹⁶ And the ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire. ¹⁷ For God put [it] into their hearts to carry out his thought, even to carry out [their] one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of God will have been accomplished. ¹⁸ And the woman whom you saw means the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.. . .

(Revelation 18:4-10) ⁴ And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues. ⁵ For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. ⁶ Render to her even as she herself rendered, and do to her twice as much, yes, twice the number of the things she did; in the cup in which she put a mixture put twice as much of the mixture for her. ⁷ To the extent that she glorified herself and lived in shameless luxury, to that extent give her torment and mourning. A sign that this is about to occur is when the world starts declaring there is peace at last.

(1 Thessalonians 5:1-3) 5 Now as for the times and the seasons, brothers, YOU need nothing to be written to YOU. ² For YOU yourselves know quite well that Jehovah’s day is coming exactly as a thief in the night. ³ Whenever it is that they are saying: “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape. . .

Then they will turn on true worship and when this happens then Jehovah will put and end to this system of things.

(Ezekiel 38:15, 16) ¹⁵ And you will certainly come from your place, from the remotest parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great congregation, even a numerous military force. ¹⁶ And you will be bound to come up against my people Israel, like clouds to cover the land. In the final part of the days it will occur, and I shall certainly bring you against my land, for the purpose that the nations may know me when I sanctify myself in you before their eyes, O Gog.. . .

When this occurs then God will take action against those attacking his people.

(Revelation 19:19-21) ¹⁹ And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army. ²⁰ And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who render worship to its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulphur. ²¹ But the rest were killed off with the long sword of the one seated on the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth. And all the birds were filled from the fleshy parts of them. . .

So as you can see there will be a one world order or as some call it a new world order which will dominate the whole earth and have a lot of authority over commerce. The beast and it’s allies will exert authority over the whole earth. If someone does not submit to this new world order then they will not be able to buy sell or trade. But submitting to this ultimate rebellion against God would be rejecting God who is the giver of life. When this occurs and they turn on true worship God will give Jesus the command to destroy the beast and all those who have allied with the beast. This is the ultimate act of rebellion. Adam and Eve rebelled against God in the garden believing they did not need God to teach and guide them. They chose to take God out of their lives. This will be the ultimate rebellion by doing this on a world wide scale they will try to completely remove God from peoples lives on a world wide scale. Only those who refuse to submit to the beast will survive.

Revelation 13:1 The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 

2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 

3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. 

4 People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?” 

5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 

6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 

7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 

8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. 

Daniel 2:41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. 

42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. 

43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay. 

44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. 

45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. “The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”
