Fatty Liver, Cirrohsis, thrombosis and other diseases caused by fibrosis.

Gray1086-liverThis is not medical advice. I am posting this for educational and informational purposes. It takes time, persistence and research to heal.

Fibrosis can result in excess blood clotting, muscle damage, NAFLD, COPD and many other illness. I have posted on oxidative stress, inflammation and infection. I have also posted on toxins like glyphosate, glufosinate, mercury and detoxing them. All those things can cause fibrosis. Modern medicine looks at the symptoms and not the cause for example when the liver or lungs are failing they view those as the problem but most things like that are from a systemic failure throughout the body caused by many things. If you read my post it is your gut and not your genes you will see many things they blame on genetics can be corrected in the gut. Even thought this post is about NAFLD these things should help with just about any illness caused by fibrosis including thrombosis (blood clotting) because many of them have similar causes.

Dysregulation of PEMT will result in liver dysfunction from choline deficiency. It is not mentioned in this study but nutrient deficiencies and metabolic issues like inhibited sulfation and issues with thiols can cause this. I have posted on those. Carcinogenic estrogen can build up in the body effecting these receptors. This can be caused by vaccine injury, heavy metals and glyphosate. Under normal health estrogen induces PEMT. PEMT homeostasis is important for preventing fibrosis throughout the body.

Ursodeoxycholic acid reduces liver fibrosis. Inhibited sulfation can cause a deficiency in ursodeoxycholic acid. It can also cause sulfated ursodeoxycholic acid to build up in the liver causing damage. This can also cause problems in the intestines, resulting in inflammation and even intestinal lesions. There are a number of things that cause liver fibrosis and many of them can be addressed by increasing the gut bacteria that produce ursodeoxycholic acid.

It is man made and our bodies make very little of the enzyme needed to break it down. This causes the excess that cannot be broken down to enter the blood stream causing damage throughout the body. Folate which is natrual does not have this effect on the body. They fortify our food with folic acid making it toxic, so those with NAFLD should try to avoid foods containing folic acid.

Herbs that help with infection.

This is not medical advice , I am posting this for educational and informational purposes.

This is a list of things that help with infection. I have literally seen hundreds of studies showing vaccines make pathogens more virulent. Knowing pathogens are going to become more deadly we need to learn how to protect ourselves. Almost all we were taught about germs is wrong. If you read my post on things science has wrong you will see that germ theory and terrain theory are wrong and have been proven to be wrong. Yet almost all modern day science is based on a theory that has repeatedly been proven wrong. This makes most modern day research to be flawed from the start. So we need to seek answers ourselves because if we do not we will not find them because modern science has headed the same direction it often times does in history. It has become corrupted by the greedy and power hungry. This results in the promotion of science that is very very flawed. If you also read my post on it is not your genes it is your gut you will also see flaws in other areas of science. I even discuss how the immune system really works.

I find Buhner’s list of herbs to be the most effective and safest of those I have seen listed.

If possible it is good to breast feed infants, it protects them from infection.

I do not believe in kissing an infant on the lips. There are valid reasons for this and people get angry when I mention it but the babies depend on us to protect them. What if someone who kisses the baby on the lips has been recently vaccinated. There is a good chance they are carrying a mycoplasma because vaccine have been shown to be contaminated with mycoplasma. Also vaccines have been shown to cause more virulent diseases to form. Those could be transmitted to the infant thus endangering their life.

Often times infections can be linked to a vitamin deficiency. For example respiratory infection has been shown in many studies to be linked to a vitamin D deficiency. Now days this could also indicate high mercury or high glyphosate levels because they interfere with our bodies ability to convert vitamin D. In those instances vitamin D3 may help. Do not take excessive amounts of vitamin D. Anything over 4000 IU can cause oxalates to form which are very harmful to the body. I have posted on that.

Vitamin A deficiency dramatically increase our risk of infection and immune dysfunction. This is one vitamin we want to achieve homeostasis with though because excess amounts can lead to increased risk of cancer. It is best to try and get your vitamins from food sources when possible.

There are instances were minerals will feed microbes for example zinc feeds the pathogenicity of Salmonella.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28874447

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25401329

http://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/18/11/2459

This is why it is important to get the nutrients needed to support the production of metallothionein.

http://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/18/10/2197

Cholesterol is needed by the immune system. If we are deficient it can result in immune dysfunction. Since cholesterol is and antioxidant and anti-inflammatory it stands to reason we would suffer ill health effects when deficient in cholesterol.

https://academic.oup.com/qjmed/article/96/12/927/1533176

Cholesterol is needed to produce the hormones we need to protect us from viral infections. This is why if we have issues that cause our production of thiols to be inhibited like high mercury, high glyphosate, high glufosinate or high oxalate levels we need to address them so the body can produce what we need to fight infection.

https://www.cell.com/immunity/fulltext/S1074-7613(17)30074-2?_returnURL=https%3A%2F%2Flinkinghub.elsevier.com%2Fretrieve%2Fpii%2FS1074761317300742%3Fshowall%3Dtrue

We need fats to fight infection. Our cells are made up of a lipid layer. If we do not get enough fat our cells become easier targets for infection.

http://iai.asm.org/content/83/2/514.full

https://www.wjgnet.com/1007-9327/full/v18/i7/627.htm

The types of fats are important. For example Omega 9 and Omega 3 help fight infection. Omega 6 does unless levels get too high. Many diets are too high in Omega 6 causing it to have to opposite effect. Omega 9 is found in the milk and fat from grass fed animals. Grain fed animals have much lower levels of Omega 9 fatty acids. This is also why we should address metabolic issues like pyphoria and pyrrole disorders which effect our bodies proper use of fats. I have posted on those. We also need to address sulfation issues which can lead to problems with our bodies proper use of fats.

Omega 3 is needed to fight infections.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0923250817300621

Whether we take Omega 3 or not is determined by the type of infections. This does not mean we should avoid it but it means we should limit our intake with certain types of infections.

Boneset helps fight the cold and flu. I found it to be extremely effective. I only had to take it for three days. It also helps fight malaria. There is an alkaloid in it and I have not had a chance to research the health effects of the alkaloid so I only use it for about three days. I will not use it any longer then that until I have a chance to research the safety of the alkaloid that is in it. I took it at night because it made me feel like I had a fever and it made me sweat. I decided I would rather sleep through that. Has been shown to be very effective against the flu. Has been shown to be very effective against RNA viruses which are usually the super viruses produced by vaccines. It also fight malaria.

I posted on things science has wrong. I had noticed most things they call pathogens have beneficial effects in the body. Some help get rid of toxins, while others help modulate and keep the immune system balanced. Some pathogens even fights cancer. So I kept researching and found when an illness exist then it can harm the pathogen so it has to go into survival mode. When it does that is when it can harm the body. So we much correct the problem to get the said pathogen back to commensal form.

Cancer, what causes it? What may help with it.

Written by Lee Stevenson, sorry I am a lousy editor.

This is not medical advice. I am posting this for educational and informational purposes.

These are the notes I compiled together from my friend in our group on Facebook , Synergistic Health. They are an amazing group of people with amazing thinking abilities in my opinion. After ready my friends post and their notes I came to realize that just like diabetes, autoimmunity is not caused by one thing but is a result of a number of things working synergistically to effect the body cancer is also an illness caused by a synergistic effect of a number of things. It also lead me to believe that restoring homeostasis to the things in the body that can contribute to cancer is the best way to recover. An imbalance either direction can contribute to cancer. Most of the things in this article I have posted information on them.

Acidosis and alkalosis are signs of health problems that need addressed. If the health problems causing them aren’t addressed then trying to fight any illness is futile and is like running on a hamster wheel. I have posted on those.

This man tells his story about beating cancer. I have met many who have beat it in a similar way.

The saddest part of all about cancer is that it is the most profitable of all medical treatments so many doctors have deliberately misdiagnosed people with cancer out of greed.

Mitochondria regulate our immune response and oxidative stress. Many things can cause mitochondria dysfunction. This can lead to metabolic issues, excess oxidative stress and autoimmunity which can lead to cancer and other chronic illness.

There are many problems in cancer research and it leads to many mistakes in their attempts to cure it. The part that frustrates me is the main causes of cancer are things like inflammation, metabolic disorders and autoimmune issues. Instead of trying to correct those and restoring homeostasis they keep looking at the cancer and cannot see the whole picture most of the time. Even in this article they do not mention those things when they talk about the problems in cancer research.

I believe people are focusing too much on the symptom and not the cause. If they focused on getting the body at homeostasis they would have more success in fighting any chronic illness including cancer. Cancer is a symptom not necessarily the cause of the illness. Science now focuses on the symptoms instead of the cause. I guess this may be because the pharmaceutical industry is the cause of many types of chronic illness and if they looked at the cause they may lose funding from the pharmaceutical industry. Also the biotech industry is owned by the pharmaceutical industry and it is a cause of much of the chronic illness now days. So many researchers are stuck in a hard place, if they looked at the cause they risk losing funding and most likely would lose their jobs.

Cancer is usually metabolic illness or autoimmunity and sometimes both. One thing common in most cancers is that it uses glycolysis instead of phosphorylation. Not all cancer uses the Warburg effect some do use oxygen and glucose. What I found common in most cancer is they require and acidic environment to thrive.

There are many things that can set off mast cell activation syndrome. It is very important to address whatever is causing it and get the immune system back to homeostasis because excessive mast cell activity can lead to chronic illness and cancer. Mastocytosis is very similar to mast cell activation syndrome and most things that help with MCAS also help with mastocytosis.

People were promoting antioxidants for cancer. The problem with that is there are man metabolic issues that if not corrected will cause antioxidants to cause or increase cancer. Those metabolic issues must be dealt with before antioxidants can be used. For example if the Nrf2 pathway is blocked antioxdiants will increase oxidative stress instead of reducing it.

In this study they claimed bile acid caused cancer. When I looked deeper into it I found it was a lack of certain gut bacteria that break down the more toxic forms of bile. Not consuming enough fiber which absorbs some of the excess bile and metabolic issues that prevent the body from properly recycling the bile.

https://www.omicsonline.org/bile-acids-promoters-or-carcinogens-in-colon-cancer-2157-2518.1000101e.php?aid=1491

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5316202/

Bile acids are also involved in inhibiting cancer. This is why it is important to try and achieve homeostasis. We have to get the idea of killing things out of our heads and learn to support the body so it can do what it was designed to do. There are bile acids that are carcinogenic, our gut bacteria and fiber help reduce those. Also our bodies when functioning properly will recycle bile and reduce the carcinogenic effects. This is why if we have an over production or under production of bile we need to address what is causing it, whether it be from toxins, inflammation, a gut microbiome imbalance or any of the other number of things that can disrupt bile homeostasis.

This study shows the importance of homeostasis because in many studies I have read over stimulation of something can cause another form of cancer to develop and completely inhibiting something can cause other forms of cancer to develop. Homeostasis should be the goal because once the body is at homeostasis it will do what it was designed to do and that is to keep us healthy. We achieve homeostasis with proper nutritional support, addressing any metabolic issues, addressing health issues like a deficiency in certain gut bacteria. We should also help support our antioxidant system so that antixodants can do their job. If our antioxidant system is not working then antioxidants will actually increase our oxidative stress. It is very important to reduce inflammation but the body also uses inflammation to tell the body something is wrong and it will stimulate healing. So we do not want to completely block inflammation but reduce excess inflammation.

Adding to this is G6PD deficiency causes anemia. G6PD deficiency can protect from cancer. Now this is where the pharmaceutical companies would look at the deficiency and try to treat it instead of seeing why the body may be reducing G6PD levels. It is why pharmaceuticals make people sicker while hiding the symptoms. They look at the symptoms as the cause and cannot distinguish between a symptoms and the illness. They view symptoms as illness. G6PD deficiency can also cause cancer because mTOR is upregulated when there is a G6PD deficiency which demonstrates the importance of achieving homeostasis.

I usually can find a natural that will resolve issues in the body but this is a tough one and so far only certain pharmaceuticals will work.

Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase is one of the first steps in the production of functional Treg Cells which help regulate the immune system. Excess IDO can inhibit the immune system causing cancer and a deficiency can cause an over active immune response which can cause cancer. Treg cells help kept things at homeostasis. I posted on the immune system and how to raise Treg cell levels. A deficiency in IDO can lead to fibrosis. Now the pharmaceutical industry would inhibit IDO completely causing other forms of chronic illness like diabetes or liver fibrosis which can lead to cancer instead of trying to restore the balance of thing.

Increased insulin like growth factor increases the risk of cancer. By now you should have recognized the pattern you can have to much and too little of the protective enzymes in the body and getting them back to homeostasis should be the goal. If you completely inhibit insulin like growth factor you will cause neurological and brain damage and many other chronic illnesses.

Many recommend Omega 3 oils to help with cancer. The problem with that if a person has porphyria or Pyrrole disorder fats will make them ill. Those should be corrected before adding Omega 3s to the diet to prevent getting discourage from the negative effects of the fats. This is the part of healing that frustrates me. Instead of addressing what is causing their intolerance to a food they will just avoid the food which prevents them from healing.

3-bromopyruvate helps stop the Warburg effect which helps stop the growth of cancer. Cancer is usually acidic and creates it’s own micro acidic environment. Since 3-BrPA is an alkalyzing agent which may contribute to it’s effectiveness but it also causes metabolic issues. The problem with allopathic medicine is they do not treat the cause so cancer is bound to occur again. Often times they declare things a success even though the patient dies. For example the patient in this case study died at 18 years old. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10863-012-9417-4

Resveratrol has been shown in many studies to reduce cancer. Alpha-napthoflavone mentioned in the first study is an aromatase inhibitor so would not be good for some to use but those who have high estrogen levels it may help. If a person has high glyphosate or glufosinate levels they would become worse from Alpha-napthoflavone. Glyphosate and glufosinate are aromitase inhibitors. I am not certain I would want to take this route in fighting cancer. It would be better to correct what is causing the high estrogen levels which often times it is a toxin. Resveratrol can activate the hepatitis virus so those with hepatitis may want to avoid it.

Vitamin D is important in preventing cancer. There is a lot of debate as to what the highest amounts to be taken should be. I have read many research papers and in doses higher then about 4000 IU it cause oxalates to form. Oxalates are very damaging to the body and can cause cancer. Sulforaphane found in crudiferous vegetables, onions, garlic and many other foods can ihibit cancer. But those who have high sulfite levels or have CBS or BH4 issues may become sicker and become more prone to cancer. Things like candida, gut dysbiosis, metabolic issues, nutrient deficiencies. High heavy metal levels in the body especially mercury and toxins like glyphosate or glufosinate can cause all those issues I mentioned. So this shows the importance of correcting those issues.

Trelahose helps with chronic illness including cancer. The way it addresses chronic illnesses is through a number of positive changes that occur in the body when we consume it. Many mushrooms are high in trelahose. There are studies that claim it makes C dif more pathogenic. I was not impressed by the research or convinced by it. GMOs do increase the pathogenicity of C Dif. They never considered that in their research so to me it is invalid because most of our food supply contains GMOs.

IMG_20180622_135147Galinsoga Parviflora

Galinsoga Parviflora is the one I am familiar with and the one I grow. There are many varieties and they have similar health effects. Galinsoga is one of my favorites when it comes to taste. It has a mild taste. It also has many benefits and is a natural ACE inhibitor. Has antioxidant abilities comparable to silymarin. Has antimicrobial abilities.

Galinsoga I also and Alpha glucosidase inhibitor which would help with diabetes. It would also inhibit viruses like HIV and Hepatitis. Those with glycogen storage disorders would want to avoid eating Galinsoga.

Galinsoga is also a urease inhibitor which would prevent many types of infection and reduces urinary stone formation.

https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14756360802667688

It would also help with high blood pressure because it is an ace inhibitor.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18598177

All those benefits and it is tasty to.

Supplement and Nutrient Information I have accumulated part 2.

This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such. I am posting this for educational and informational purposes.

Calcium Glycerophosphate – helps with the ph of urine. Helps fight pathogens also helps with bone healing. You do not want to over alkalize the bladder. Most pathogens especially Candida when it is in it’s pathogenic form prefers and flourishes in an alkaline environment but the good bacteria cannot tolerate it. This helps if you have acidosis and would probably be about the only reason I would take it. It has been shown to strengthen bones and teeth. Do not take too often or for too long because it can inhibit absorption of other nutrients. It has been shown to reduce the symptoms of mental illness, improve memory and cognitive function. It helps heal leaky gut. It inhibits absorption of lead and alunimun into the body. It also helps ease bladder pain. It reduces inflammation and fights cancer. It increases IL 10 which can be inhibited by many pathogens to stealth themselves from the immune system.

Calcium-D-Glucarate this reduces ammonia levels in the body. It helps remove toxins from the body. It can help remove carcinogenic estrogen from the body. It reduces stress on the liver which causes a reduced need for cholesterol which will reduce cholesterol levels. It also reduces the risk of cancer. It also prevents toxins from being absorbed in the digestive system. It improves glucuronidation.

Phospholipids – needed for healing and protecting the cells in the body. Also helps transport nutrients through the body. Breaks up biofilms. It is good to alternate sources because each has their benefits. Some good sources of phospholipids are olive oil, ghee, evening primrose oil etc. Try to reduce sources of Omega 6 if it gets too high in the body it will cause inflammation instead of reducing it. Omega 3 needs to be higher. If you get ill, have bladder pain or get indigestion when you consume fats then you may have a blocked Pentose Phosphate Pathway or you have Pyrole issues that need addressed. There are many types of fats. I will do a seperate article on that.

Cholesterol – needed to heal in all parts of the body. The heart and brain cannot function without it. If your oxLDL is high it indicates you have inflammation or high oxidative stress levels. Cholesterol is an antioxidant and high LDL is a sign your antioxidant systems is working but something is causing inflammation or oxidative stress. Lowering chlolesterol prevents the body from healing. Address what is causing it, also not drinking enough water can also cause high LDL levels. Reducing cholesterol is not a good idea. Studies have shown memory and cognitive function decline as cholesterol levels decline. Muscles start to deteriorate if they do not get enough cholesterol. I did a post on cholesterol that gets into more detail.

Arrowroot – helps the cells use cholesterol more affectively especially in the bladder. It reduces oxLDL levels. It has many of the nutrients to support our metabolic pathways. Cholesterol is needed for our bodies to heal. Oxidative stress prevents our cells from being able to use cholesterol properly. Arrow root helps improve the absorption and use of cholesterol in the body. This reduces the bad cholesterol like oxLDL. There are many types of roots used from a variety of plants but most have the same benefits. Helps heal the gut and bladder because it has nutrients to support the health of mucous membranes. When processed into flour it losses many of it’s vitamins but retains minerals. Many of the benefits from arrowroot are from drinking teas made from arrowroot. Most of these because of the type of starch found in roots would help heal the gut. Seems those in the Canna family, Maranta Arundinacea are the best ones to use.

Larazotide Acetate – reduces symptoms of celiac disease has been shown to reduce bladder pain. Though I do not like pharmaceuticals because the pharmaceutical companies have a history of covering up the ill effects of their drugs and often times it turns out the side effects are worse then their illness. This one seems to show promise.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23163616

Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera)– improves thyroid and adrenal health. Reduces brain cell degeneration. Improves endurance and stamina. This is an herb you want to back off using and only take maintenance doses once you start healing. Ashwagandha reduces stress hormones. Ashwagandha also balances sugar levels in the body. Improves memory and heals the brain. It contains withanolides which are also found in plants in the same family like Tomatilla and ground cherries. Has many antioxidants which help reduce inflammation and histamines that results in lower oxidative stress, lower oxLDL and better immune function. It increases male fertility and fights cancer. It simulates thyroid hormones. It increases red and white blood cell counts. It also kills pathogens so you could herx when you first take it. Though there are no apparent side effects homeostasis should always be the goal. When you feel better a rule that has helped me is to stop taking something and start taking maintenance doses once in a while to keep things working.

Mushrooms like cordyceps, reishe and many others contain anti pathogen properties and have glycoprotein which is more easily used by the body for energy. Glycoproteins also promote better cell to cell communication. They also contain beta glucan which can stimulate the immune system to help fight pathogens. If you have a T cell imbalance they restore T cell balance in the body. Exposing mushrooms to sunlight before you eat them causes them to produce vitamin D. They kill cancer because the glycoproteins improve our bodies cell to cell communication. Mushrooms are also hepatoprotective.

Fulvic Acid – helps repair chromosome damage. Can increase ammonia and hydrogen peroxide levels so make sure your oxidative stress levels are down. Make sure you detox before using it, it can cause the release of toxins from the cells to be excreted. It restores autophagy. Because it restores autophagy it benefits the whole body. It helps balance our gut bacteria and is good for those who have SIBO. Fulvic Acid also improves nutrient absorption. In inhibits COX and reduces homocystein which would reduce inflammation and help with MCAS. I get mine from organic blackstrap molasses. It has a high fulvic acid content. It also helps fight cancer. There is a draw back to fulvic acid. If you take too much it can actually increase oxidative stress instead of decreasing it. Use in moderation. Also if you are deficient in Selenium it will increase oxidative stress so make sure you get enough selenium.

It breaks up Tau Fibrils in the brain so would probably break up other illnesses cause by misfolded proteins which causes Alzheimer’s. This is one of the most common problems in those who suffer from interstitial cystitis.

Taurine – usually low in vegetarians, has a sedative affect. Helps adrenals by reducing stress hormones. Has sedative affects. Needed for cardiovascular function, cellular function, eyes, skeletal muscle and central nervous system. Protect the bladder from stress induced injury. It is also an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It reduces oxidative stress so would help with the many chronic illnesses that come with it. Helps regualte the amount of water in our cells and is part of the bile system. If you are deficient in taurine it could effect your gall bladder which in turn could cause gall stones and high oxLDL. There is so many benefits to taurine I am not going to list them. I have found no studies on negative effects caused by it.

Ginkgo Biloba – before I mention the benefits I need to give a warning. Taking it for too long or in high doses may damage the liver. I say may because the studies showing it harms the liver where poorly designed so I could not draw a conclusion. Their are studies showing it’s safety but they did not test on liver enzymes and function so I cannot draw a conclusion from those either. helps adrenals by lowering stress hormones. Improves memory and blood circulation. I got a headache the first few times I took this then I could think much clearer. The is one that you are not supposed to take often or for extended periods of time. If taken for too long or to high a dose it can damage the kidney and liver. It helps with interstitial cystitis and reduces inflammation. It also fights infection. It enhances memory and cognitive function. Helps with Raynauds disease which is cause by damage or inflammation in the blood vessels which causes restricted blood flow. It can also be caused by carditits from sepsis or infection. Some drugs can cause it like fluoroquinolones one of the most harmful drugs on the market. If you have epilepsy most recommend you do not take it. The first couple of times I took it I got a really bad headache. It improves mood and energy levels. Heals, hemorrhoids, fights fibromyalgia and reduces symptoms of asthma. Then about the third day my brain fog from the Lyme started lifting and I could think more clearly and concentrate better. If you are allergic to poison ivy you may be allergic to this. I am allergic to poison ivy but did not react but they say some do.

Organic unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses has too many benefits to list but I will try to list some of them. It promotes overall body health. Speeds up wound healing and helps with anemia. Has many nutrients needed for the metabolic pathways. Ease into using it because when the metabolic pathways open your body will start to detox. You do not want to open the flood gates too fast but open them slowly until the toxin levels are low enough for your body to be able to keep up. Also Blackstrap Molasses is high in fulvic acid and you do not want to get your fulvic acid levels to high. It has many benefits but many nutriets lose their benefits if over consumed.

oligosaccharides found in fruits and vegetables help balance our gut bacteria. Which reduces our risk of chronic illness. They also help prevent gut dysbiosis and cancer.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29800811

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29800811

We need a variety of oligosaccharides because different members of our gut bacteria need different oligosaccharides. I found when I was able to start eating again I had to ease into adding these because I bloated at first. As my good bacteria got established from eating the oligosaccharides the bloating and gas stop occurring. It took me 3 months before I felt no ill effects from getting oligosaccharides. I knew it was necessary to get my good bacteria established. When we have too much of one specific bacteria or if candida is in it’s pathogenic form we will have too many methane producing and sulfur digesting bacteria. This causes high hydroxy radical levels in the body and also causes high sulfate levels which will result in high ammonia levels in the bladder and digestive system. This causes Candida to go from commensal to pathogenic form. When Candida is in pathogenic form it alkalizes which feeds it even more. We have to work on restoring the ph of our bladder and digestive system back to acidic. A few strains of lactobacillus regulate the ph of our bladder. If we are low or deficient in them then we cannot fight pathogens because they prefer an alkaline environment. Our food does not get broke down as quickly and ferments instead of digesting.

Healing Interstitial Cystitis.

Written by Lee Stevenson, sorry I am not a very good editor.

I still have a lot of things to ad but I have decided to put all the research I did when I was working on healing on one web page. Hope it helps.

This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such. It is for informational and educational purposes only. Please find a qualified naturopathic doctor with a proven history of good work. Allopathic medicine only treats the symptoms, naturopathic treats the cause. For reasons I don’t have time to discuss I do not like homeopathy although it does have some good things.

It takes a lot of research and self discipline to get into remission from interstitial cystitis but I know it can be done because I can eat and do many things now. When I do have flare ups they do not last more then a day or two. For the most part the things that help me have become a habit and a part of my life so I forget I have it sometimes unless I eat some GMOs or a lot of sugar or something else I shouldn’t be eating.

Excess Oxidative stress leads to chronic illness there is a test to see if you have excess oxidative stress. If you do not get it resolved you cannot heal. You can get a test to check oxidative stress levels.

https://www.ichelp.org/oxidative-damage-may-give-clues-to-icbps-diagnosis/

There are other test that can help identify which areas of the anti-oxidant system are working and which may not be working. This can help identify the sources of high ROS levels or other toxins produced in the body from oxidative stress.

If you have bladder issues and are not certain what the problem is this is a pdf you can download that is a symptom profile for interstitial cystitis.

https://www.mdedge.com/jfponline/article/64347/womens-health/when-suspect-interstitial-cystitis

Interstitial Cystitis can be put in remission. There are many causes like toxins in our environment, pathogens. Mine is caused by Lyme disease. There are studies that have shown that up to 80% of those with interstitial cystitis have tick born illness. Vaccine injury is also a cause of interstitial cystitis. BT Toxins in GMOs and the glyphosate used on them can cause interstitial cystitis. I will try to list links to sources to show the claims I make. These links list the possible causes. When we get an infection in the bladder it sheds and raises histamines and inflammation. This tell the body there is a problem and it will send an all out attack to try and get rid of pathogens or whatever is causing the problem. In those with interstitial cystitis the bladder get stuck in this cycle and the key is getting the inflammation down and getting the brain to believe that things are ok. That is why it is very important to address mental issues, health issues and reduce the inflammation, histamines and pain so the cycle can be stopped.

GP51 glycoprotein has been found to be deficient in those with IC. This causes the bladder to get stuck in a shedding and repair state. I have found adding source of glycoprotein to my diet helped me a lot. I did herx at first because glycoproteins also help kill pathogens.

Each persons IC is unique and has to be addressed according to their health issues. There is no a one size fits all protocol.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5798639/

I will list things that have helped my friends and I at the end of this article.

Each of us is unique we have to figure out the cause. Many of us have metabolic issues like inhibited sulfation or upregulated CBS or BH4 pathways which causes interstitial cystitis. All this can be caused by toxins, endotoxins from infection and the toxins in vaccinations which stay in the body for years. The key to going into remission is figuring out what our metabolic and immune issues are and addressing them. Many of the things I mentioned cause leaky gut so it must be healed. All the things I mentioned above cause high oxalate levels so we must watch our oxalate intake. Also high doses of vitamin C and vitamin D can cause oxalates so we must do those in moderation. Most recommend we do not do over 4000 IU of vitamin D a day. Because our skin can make vitamin D from sun light life guards have the highest incidence of kidney stones. Sun light is good and needed but do not over do it.

That being said I am going to list sites of people who have gotten their IC into remission. The reason I say remission many I know who have recovered still have temporary short term episodes but because we have learned how to recover they do not last long. So I believe we never fully get rid of IC.

Many of the things in this article helped me but you must make sure they are organic. There are many herbicide and pesticide residues on and in foods now and they will make us much worse. To learn more read my post on GMOs.

Many articles will mention cranberry but most IC sufferers have high oxalates and we must try our best to consume low oxalate foods. D-Mannose in cranberries does help the bladder and you can buy it as a separate supplement. I do not recommend cranberry juice for any bladder issues because of it’s oxalate content. Also it has a high acid level and many IC sufferers have acidosis. The things mentioned in the article below have helped many but they do promote cranberry juice which could cause problems in the bladder. When you see articles that mention cranberry juice take it with a grain of salt.

Epigallocatechon Gallate helps with IC unfortunately many of the foods that contain them are also high oxalate or high histamine. Green Tea if consumed in high quantities can raise histamine levels. Vaccinations, tick born illness and toxins like fluroquinolones, fluoride, lead and mercury can raise substance P levels. The symptoms are burning in the skin, especially in the scalp area and down the spine. Burning or tingling nerves. Substance P increases at night so symptoms get worse at night. If levels get too high it can cause the body to start attacking itself. Feverfew, chamomille, daisy and baking soda lower substance P.

I know it is hard to get over the trauma of our past and things that may have happened through our life. But studies have shown trauma can cause interstitial cystitis. It is very important to let negative things that have happened in our lives make us stronger. If not then the one who caused the trauma still has control by mentally victimizing us over and over again in our minds. We need to take that back and not give anyone that kind of power.

When you have gotten all things addressed the histamines, mast cells, metabolic issues , inflammation and high substance P levels and learned to deal with stress and past trauma and the IC is still present then the brain is stuck in the shed and repair cycle. This can be caused by the pain in the bladder it signals the brain something is wrong. Many have had success with botulin toxin. It numbs the bladder for a while giving the brain time to reset. Some IC can be caused by spinal cord injury. This may help with that also.

Many who have IC have been found to be deficient in Cathelicidin. This is why vitamin D helps with IC. For those who are not converting their vitamin D to D3 you may want to supplement with D3 instead.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2659525/

Cathelicidin deficiency inhibits our ability to fight pathogens. GMOs, fluoride, fluoroquinolones, mercury, lead, aluminum, glyphosate and glufosinsate inhibit our ability to convert vitamin D which would result in an inability to fight infection. Those who have high levels of these substances may benefit from taking vitamin D3.

TH2 cytokines down regulate Cathelicidin so if you are TH2 dominant you will be deficient in Cathelicidin. This can cause skin issues to develop. So balancing our T cells is important.

Vaccine injury can raise zonulin levels, leaky gut caused by GMOs and toxins can also raise zonulin levels which can lead to IC. Also antibiotics and glyphosate can kill our good gut and bladder bacteria which regulates our tight junction protein layers which leads to IC. So in other words modern processed food can lead to IC. To find out more on GMOs look at my post on them.

Chemicals especially farm chemicals on our food, drugs especially fluorquinolones and many toxins can cause inflammation in the bladder which causes endothelin-1 over expression. This can lead to interstitial cystitis. If you look at IC research many of the things found in our foods and given as medication is used to cause ischemia-reperfusion in lab animals. This causes blood flow in the bladder to be disrupted which leads to IC. Endothelin-A agonist helps reduce the severity but it will not get rid of the problem. It is not mentioned in this study but Endothelin-A is a protein in a family that encodes histone acetyltransferases (HATS) and plays an important role in chromatin remodeling which is involved in DNA remodling and cell apoptosis (death) . Histones play a role in cell cycle progression and development. It controls endothelial growth. Over expression of ET-A increases inflammation. Withaferin A decreases ET-1 which may help with the inflammation and over expression of ET-1. Resveratrol found in grapes skins, grape seed extract and wine reduces ET-1.

Glyphosate, glufosinate, vaccine adjuvants, and heavy metals like mercury and lead can cause damge to the NMDA receptor. This has been found to be common in those with IC. I do not like this study because instead of addressing the cause they want to treat the symptoms which seems to be the main them of allopathic medicine. If I get a chance I will do a post on things that help repair the NMDA receptor. Mugwort, olive oil, CoQ10, P5P, and coconut oil have been found to help.

Acacia gum helped heal my gut. When we have digestive issues it can cause IC by raising histamines and inflammation in the body.

Magnesium Citrate helped me a lot. Magnesium helps reduce inflammation. I used magnesium citrate because it also reduces oxalates. The firs couple of days I took it, it gave me indigestion but the third day I started feeling much better and could not believe how much it reduced my pain. Magnesium citrate should not use often. Our bodies recycle citrate so it can build up in the body. If levels get to high then it can damage the liver , kidneys and red blood cells. Use it in moderation.

Tick born illness and mycoplasma inhibit IL 10, Our bodies use IL 10 to detect infections and rid the body of them. Then it will reduce inflammation. Inhibiting IL 10 causes excess inflammation. This cause the body to be unable to recognize the pathogen. When this happens the body will release hydrogen pyroxide which is a last ditch effect to remove the pathogens from the body. This cause a lot of damage throughout the body. This is why it is important to reduce inflammation and to support the function of IL 10. Hydrogen pyroxide will break down the tight junction layers in the gut, blood brain barrier and bladder. This cause inflammation in all those areas. When the tight junction layer has been effected in the digestive system food allergies and intolerances will develop. Warning increasing IL 10 can lead to weight loss.

I got candida from antibiotics. I fell for the alkazing myth and things got much worse for me so I started doing the opposite. Lo and behold it started going away. Candida likes and alkaline environment and will actually switch from commensal (friendly) to a pathogen if the alkalinity of digestive system or bladder gets too alkaline. Our bladder and digestive tract is supposed to be acidic. We have bacteria that keeps our bladder and digestive system at the correct PH. If we are deficient in those bacteria then our digestive system and bladder can become alkaline promoting infection of many types of pathogens especially candida.

Even newer stuff.

If we do not get enough cholesterol we cannot heal. Cholesterol is needed by the cells to protect us from inflammation, infections, our heart , brain, liver and kidneys cannot function without it. Antibiotics, GMOs and herbicides kill our gut bacteria. Certain gut bacteria use tryptophan to modulate our immune system. We become prone to infection if we are lacking those bacteria, especially candida infection. Consuming foods high in tryptophan helps restore them and our immune function. Our adaptive immunity comes from our gut bacteria. When we are low or deficient in certain ones we can have either an over active immune response or non at all. This also protects us from inflammation.

The metabolic issues I had made it impossible for me to eat meat because of the high phenylalanine content, potatoes and other things high in phenylalanine were out also. I had to eat a vegetarian diet for a very long time until I corrected my metabolic issues. If you have sulfation issues or upregulated BH4 or CBS pathways your will develop very high ammonia levels because sulfite levels rise very high and causes you body to be unable to recycle phenylalanine. So as it is used the biproducts produced build up in the blood stream and ammonia is one of them.

Though NO can cause damage in the body it is needed to maintain health. So we do not want to reduce it too low. It will cause many negative health issues if we do. That is why many develop high blood pressure when under oxidative stress because it depletes NO. Homeostasis should always be the goal.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1906415/

Olive leaves are very good for fighting infection but if you have a high metabolism they are not good for you. They speed up the metabolism. Olive oil has many benefits. It activates the Nrf2/keap1 pathway which is a key part of our antioxidant system that protects our cells. If you have pyrole issues you will have gall bladder pain and/or indigestion when you consume oils. Supporting sulfation will helps with pyrole issues. Also reducing histamines and inflammation help correct issues with pyroles.

Rehmania raises blood pressure. I have cardititis and this help get my blood pressure up which made me feel much better. I did not take it everyday though because homeostasis should always be the goal. It also reduces oxidative stress.

Before I got my gut straightened out my brain was a mess. We need butyric acid but our limited diets prevent us from eating the foods that contain it like milk products and the plants that contain the fiber many of us cannot eat because of sulfation issues which many plants that contain inulin which our gut bacteria produce butyric acid from are high in sulfur. Onions are one example of that and I was so lactose intolerant that milk products were definitely out. The solution for me was to make ghee. All the lactose is removed but the butyric acid remains. It made a world of difference in my health I had more energy and could think so much clearer. Since I have my gut healed and my metabolic issues straightened out I can eat pretty much anything.

Antibiotics and farm chemicals kill our good gut bacteria that protects us from infection.

We have commensal bacteria that are related to pathogenic. When they are killed by antibiotics or farm chemicals we lose that protection and become prone to illness from the pathogenic ones. Ever notice how many will eat the same contaminated food but only some of them would get ill. They liked the commensal relatives of the pathogenic bacteria so were not protected. Unfortunately the only probiotic I found that contains the commensal E Coli strain is VSL#3 and it is very expensive.

Modern day chemicals in our food supply and antibiotics can ruin our ability to produce FUT2 enzymes. These modulate our immune system and keep our gut bacteria balanced and happy. If we are not producing FUT2 enzymes then we cannot fight infection and our gut bacteria will get out of balance and we will even become deficient in some bacteria. Many will take probiotics with not results for this very reason.

What complicates things is that the medical community cannot identify the difference between commensal and pathogenic. Often times they give antibiotics that kill bacteria we need. When we get an infection from a bacteria that is usually commensal it means something is out of balance in the body. Instead of looking for the problem they kill the commensal bacteria that we need.

Here is where it can get confusing. Some strains of lactobacillus are pathogenic. We have to make sure the strains we take are ones that reduce inflammation and histamines. Angelica

Angelica Archangelica

This is not medical advice it should not be taken as such. I am posting this for informational and educational purposes only. If in doubt do not use a plant if you are not certain of it’s safety or identification.

Angelica is related to carrots and celery so will taste similar. I have Angelica Archangelica and it has a mild celery like taste. Some species of Angelica can cause light sensitivity when eaten. A. Sylvestris is one of them. There are many toxic plants that look very similar so make certain you know this one before you even try to use it. Angelica has a husk like part close to where the stems meet. The one I am familiar with is Angelica Archangelica. It is the only one I have seen. It can get very tall, mine used to be then I cut it down. Every since I cut it down it has not recovered.

Skullcap

Scutellaria

This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such , I am posting this for information and educational purposes only. If in doubt don’t please know your plants before using them.

There are many plants that are poisonous that get mistaken for Scutellaria and are sometimes contaminants in supplements containing Skullcap. Two of the most common that can be mistaken for Skullcap that are poisonous are Downy Skullcap (scutellaria icana) and Germander which is in the Teucrium family.

The ones with the most health benefits in the order of effectiveness are Sculletaria Racemosa, Sculletaria Biacalensis, and the one with the best sedative effects is Sculletaria Lateriflore.

They contain biacalein which I have seen miss spelled as biacalin in some studies. It has amazing healing abilities. S Racemosa has the highest levels of biacelain. It has been shown to be very effective against cancer with little side effects. One of the problems I had with Skullcap was that it healed my nerves and improved my blood circulations so fast that all heck broke loose. The best way I can describe it is when you sleep on your arm and it goes to sleep. As the blood flow returns you experience muscle spasms and major tingling. That happened to me for about three days when I started taking it and then I started to feel much much better. I was surprised at how fast it was healing me. I used Sculletaria Racemosa.

Fleabane

Erigeron Annuus and Erigeron Philadelphica

I am have written this for educational purposes. If in doubt don’t, make certain you know your plants. This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such.

Known as daisy fleabane. They look very similar and have the same taste and health benefits. They are difficult to tell apart and I often confuse them. So I am not sure which I have picutures of but I like the peppery taste. The older they get the hotter they get. The flowers and roots are very hot almost as hot as a habenaro but the burning does not last as long. It taste like for hot black pepper. The younger the plant the milder it is. Many claim you should not eat the roots.

Ground Cherries

Physalis heterophyllas

I am have written this for educational purposes. If in doubt don’t, make certain you know your plants. This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such.

Most know them as ground cherries here in Pennsylvania. I have seen the amish plant these among their corn plants. They grow wild in many areas of the U.S. All parts of the plant are toxic except the berries when ripe. The berries are ripe when they turn yellow. They have a slight tart taste, I add them to salsa. If you have eaten a tomatilla then you will know what these taste like because the taste is pretty much the same but the tomatilla is much bigger. Some make pies and jelly from them. I eat them but have not gotten enough to make anything from them. The chipmunks eat them before I can pick them. Many say they taste best if you wait until they drop off the plant. I noticed no difference in taste from ones ripe on the plant and ones that have fallen from the plant.

Though the links are to different varieties of physalis the nutrient and chemical makeup of most of them are pretty much the same so just about any variety of them would have the benefits mentioned in these studies.

Figwort

Scrophularia Marilandica

I  have written this for educational purposes. If in doubt don’t, make certain you know your plants. This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such.

It is claimed to have many benefits though I only had tea made from the leaves a few times so I would not know any long term effects. People around here in Pennsylvania have referred to it as New York Figwort though I have not seen it referred to as that anywhere else.

The Scrophularia family does contain unique anti inflammatory qualities.

Boneset

Eupatorium Perfoliatum

I  have written this for educational purposes. If in doubt don’t, make certain you know your plants. This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such.

There are many varieties of Boneset but this is the one I am familiar with. Eupatorium Perfoliatum is the one that is most common in my area. It is great for fighting the cold and flu. It dramatically reduces the duration of both. It has also been shown to fight cancer. I have used it when I have gotten ill and could not believe how fast it worked the results were surprising.

Boneset has many amazing properties but can be toxic so should only be used when very ill and not for extended periods of times. Also something to keep in mind. The dose makes the poison. If you drink too much water you will flush your electrolytes out and can cause a heart attack. So even though many plants contain alkaloids that can harm the body in high doses or if taken in for extended periods of time they can harm the body. Borage is one such food that contains an alkaloid that can build up in the body and harm it.

Some claim drying the herb destroys the toxic alkaloid.

Now to show the benefits if used in moderation.

Teasel

Dipsacus Fullonum

I  have written this for educational purposes. If in doubt don’t, make certain you know your plants. This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such.

It is considered invasive in the US but I have not had a problem with it spreading because the deer and ground hogs love it. As a matter of fact because of that I have a difficult time getting it to grow. It is very high in nutrition, I love the taste of the leaves. First year roots are very tasty but second year roots are bitter and tough.

Teasel is amazing it helps with everything, tick born illness, cancer, osteoporosis. The list goes on and on. It really helped with my Lyme Disease. It is great at reducing inflammation. It helps with amyloidosis which can be caused by vaccine injury especially vaccines that contain aluminum. Glyphosate and other farm chemicals can cause it. Also infection can cause amyloid cyst to form. This is a list of the phytochemicals in teasels and what they do.
