Why is there so much chronic illness? Part of the answer is many are deficient in nutrients needed for our bodies to remain healthy. I am only going to cover the most common nutritional deficiencies and their causes. Also I am not going to cover where and how to get them. I would have to write a book things like that cannot be covered in a single article. Also if I mention the recommended daily allowance it will be for adults. The links I have provided have more in depth information on each nutrient and many of the articles discusses their interactions with other nutrients. They also discuss the causes of nutrient deficiencies which can be causes by many things. I just want people to have a basic guide. I would have to write a book if I tried to cover all that. I strongly believe getting nutrients from food is much better then supplements. Sometimes taking what I consider medicinal doses those which are mega doses of nutrients, they can get things kick started but should only be done with the guidance of someone experienced and knowledgeable. Homeostasis should be the goal. Taking too much of something often times can do more harm then good. As I was putting this together it actually depressed me because many things that we should not be deficient in because of modern day toxins we can be. For example phosphorous is high in our foods and we should not experience deficiencies but glyphosate and glufonisate chelate it and many other nutrients from the soil causing our food supply to be low in phosphorous.
Over farming and not rotating crops has caused fruits and vegetables to become deficient in nutrients. Chemicals used for farming either kill the microbes in the soil that the plants need to absorb nutrients or they may chelate the nutrients from the soil. Glyphosate does both and is found to be high in our food supply. Glyphosate also chelates nutrients form our bodies.
Glyphosate and other farm chemicals harm our microbiome that produce nutrients for us and also break down our food so we can absorb nutrients. They also are needed to maintain the health of our guts, our microbiome modulate many of our genes and organs including the brain. Glyphosate inhibits the vitamin D receptor which can cause us to have symptoms of vitamin D deficiency and it damages the gut which often times leads to malabsorption issues which will cause a deficiency in many vital nutrients. Now add vaccinations to this which causes a B cell imbalance which increases zonulin resulting in the gut becoming more porous. This results in food particles entering the blood stream causing a person to react to every food they eat.
Many people eat the same foods day after day and do not get a variety. There are things other then vitamins and minerals that the body needs and we get them from the foods we eat.
Antibiotics and pharmaceutical medications cause many of the same health issues as the farm chemicals and some of the farm chemicals are also patented as pharmaceutical drugs. Fluoroquinolone does almost the same types of damage in the body as glyphosate.
Now imagine being damaged by the farm chemicals in our foods and now we become vaccine injured. Vaccinations injure 100% of the time. As low as 1% of vaccine injury is reported. This means that many are vaccine injured and believe that their illness is genetic. Science has shown genetics contribute very little to chronic illness. Now you have the synergistic effects of things piling up. Most peoples bodies have reached a breaking point.
The saddest part of all of it is that the vaccine injury, the farm chemicals and the drugs cause negative epigenetic changes that are being passed on to the next generation. They are being born pretty much already injured by vaccines, farm chemicals, and pharmaceutical drugs.
The U.S. is one of the most heavily medicated nations in the world. The United States is rapidly become one of the sickest nations in the industrialized world. Many have become disabled which puts a burden on tax payers who have to support those who are unable to work because of their chronic illness. Thousands of soldiers are suffering from ASIA syndrome because of the many vaccines and chemicals they come in contact with. I cannot see how a nation can continue to thrive with all happening to their citizens no matter how advanced technologically they are. Historically many nations who were the most advanced in their times have collapsed almost over night. The toxins in our environment have broken the circle of life and in the U.S. only about 20% of the wild pollinators are left which indicates our food supply may be near collapsing. The soil is becoming so contaminated with farm chemicals that it will take many years for the microbiome of the soil to recover so that the plants will be able to uptake nutrients again.
Now they have spliced genes into many crops such as corn and soy and the BT Toxin they now contain has been causing farm animals to die. It severely damages their guts. Many believe they are lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant but it is actually the food that has caused them to become intolerant of certain foods. As they consume more of the above mentioned products their health continues to decline until they develop immune issues, diabetes, irregular heart beats, obesity , malabsorption, mental illness the list of illnesses caused by these things goes on and on.
With a society that is becoming so ill I cannot see how it can be sustained and a collapse seems inevitable.
Many of the first symptoms of injury from these things are roaming joint pain, then a person will start experiencing frequent flu like symptoms or food poisoning because our microbiome protect us from illness and keep our bodies balanced. Our environment has become so toxic that eating organic only reduces our exposure but does not prevent it. Fish and reptile populations are rapidly declining. When I was younger there were so many bees that every flower had a bee on it. I planted clover hoping to help the wild bee population recover. It has been 7 years and I have seen very few bees or any other insects that pollinate visiting my clover. I used to go fishing there were so many fish that you could actually see them in the water now often times you can walk the creeks all day and not see a single fish. I used to catch my limit of fish within an hour or two of fishing. Now I can fish all day without catching a single fish. There used to be so many frogs that when you walked the creeks and ponds you would see many jumping into the water. Now when I walk creeks and ponds I am lucky to see one frog. It has become clear the cycle that maintains our food supply is severely broken and a collapse is inevitable. What has almost sealed this fate is the U.S. government has just approved much higher farm chemical usage and has just made it possible for pharmaceutical companies to get drugs to be approved much sooner. Many of these medications are making it into the environment. The research that the pharmaceutical companies do is so poor that often times after they market a drug many are injured and killed and the drug has to be pulled from the market.
These younger ones do not even realize all this is happening because they are being taught to accept these things as normal and to believe those sounding the alarm are paranoid or delusional. I am watching them suffer from things they are led to believe is a normal part of life. When I was younger most older people died from old age. Now many aren’t even reaching old age and are dying from chronic illness and heart failure, often times unexpectedly.
This is a cycle that continues to repeat itself over and over which goes to show you our government is not going to protect us. When I was younger my father and his brother where warning people about the harm DDT and PCBs do and that we should avoid them. Everyone laughed at them and told them they were being paranoid and that they were crazy. They would say the government would not let them use those if they were harmful. Later it had been revealed that the government was actually working with the manufactures to hide the harm those chemicals were doing. This has happened many times throughout history and often times governments have colluded with the corporations to help cover up the harm the big corporations chemicals were doing. We are still dealing with the effects of DDT and PCBs now. There are many areas in the U.S. that still have high levels of both in the soil even though their usage has been limited and even banned.
Now add all of this to the ultra-processed foods which have high toxin levels and many additives that are toxic to the body. They add vitamins that are synthetic like folic acid which is toxic to the body yet they refer to it as if it was one and the same as folate which is natural and very good for the body. The processed food has very low nutritional levels so much more has to be eaten in order to get the nutrients the body needs. This is contributing to heart disease, diabetes, obesity and many other forms of chronic illness.
I will try my best to cover each nutrient deficiency and the symptoms. It is best if you get your nutrients from organic local farms if possible. If you supplement be careful because excess vitamin consumption can do more harm then good. Ultra processed foods cause deficiencies in B12, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Niacin, Pyridoxine (B6), copper, iron, phosphorous, magnesium, selenium, zinc, thiamine, riboflavin.
These are nutrient deficiencies caused by glyphosate because of it’s chelating properties and it’s damage to the gut microbiome, glyphosate also inhibits a plants ability to produce certain nutrients. Magnesium , folate, iron, magnesium, molybdenum, manganese, zinc, copper, vitamin K, calcium. Studies have shown that the younger a child is the more susceptible their microbiome is to damaging effects of toxins. Glyphosate and ultra-processed foods can increase sulfite levels in the gut which decreases beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus and Streptococcus Thermophilus and increases Blautia Wadsworthia, Desulfovibrio and Bacteroidetes. When those increase it inhibits bile which leads to malabsorption, a reduction in pancreatic enzymes which causes constipation and the inability to break down fats leading to low absorption of fats and fat soluble vitamins. When bile and digestive enzymes are inhibited we cannot absorb nutrients. This is why many are deficient in oil soluble vitamins like D, E and vitamin K. Antibiotics and farm chemicals can cause gut inflammation and gut imbalance which also reduce the production of intrinsic factor which is needed in order for the body to absorb vitamin B12. If you supplement do not take high doses it is best if you find food sources of the nutrients you need. It is also best to take whole food supplements because they have the cofactors needed for the body to properly absorb and use most nutrients. Synthetic vitamins usually have toxic effects on the body especially folic acid. Vitamins E, K, D and A are oil soluble and should be consumed with a fatty acid. Most others are water soluble.
Symptoms of vitamin D deficiency or inhibited vitamin D receptor are frequent illness from autoimmunity, muscle weakness, psoriasis, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, asthma, periodontal diseases, cardiovascular disease, schizophrenia or depression, bone pain or bone loss, high blood pressure, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and difficulty sleeping. Excess vitamin D causes the vitamin D receptor to become inhibited and can cause oxalates to form which can lead to kidney stones. Since our bodies can make vitamin D from sunlight it stands to reason that lifeguards have one of the highest rates of kidney stones. From most of the information I could gather the average intake should be around 500 IU a day and at around 5000 IU it starts to impact the health negatively.
Folic acid can mask vitamin B12 deficiency. Symptoms of B12 deficiency are numbness or tingling in extremities, depression, paranoid delusions, memory loss, constipation, loss of sense of smell or sense of taste, anemia, weakness, dizziness, irregular heartbeat, buzzing or ringing in ears, loss of appetite or weight loss, bloating, disturbed vision, dissociative disorder, pale or yellow skin, swelling in tongue especially on the sides, white film on the tongue. It is difficult to overdose on vitamin B12 usually the only symptoms of overdose will be acne. Glyphosate and fluorquinolone antibiotics can inhibit the bodies ability to convert B12 to a bioavailable form in the body. Those with high glyphosate or fluorquinolone injury can develop toxic levels of B12 very easily. This can usually be prevented by P5P (pyridoxine-6-phosphate) which is a bioavailable form of vitamin B6. Those at risk can have decreased kidney function when they take B12, high blood pressure, nausea and vomiting, dizziness and numbness.
Vitamin B6 is needed to convert B12 to a bioavailable form. If glyphosate and fluoroquinolones can inhibit the ability of B6 to be converted also which would inhibit the bodies ability to convert B12. Folic Acid a toxin they put in our foods to replace the folate that glyphosate causes to be lost in the food supply hides B12 deficiency. Folate does not.
A deficiency in B6 can cause mood swings, irritability, anxiety, depression, and confusion, it can also cause fatigue, muscle pain, mouth sores, anemia, worsening symptoms of PMS, increased risk of kidney stones, chronic pain, low white blood cell count, dermatitis, swollen tongue and memory loss.
Vitamin B6 toxicity symptoms are loss of dexterity and stumbling when walking, numbness or tingling in extremities, sun sensitivity of the skin and possible brown blotching of the skin, skin lesions, nausea, and heartburn. B6 is needed for magnesium uptake. Recommended daily allowance is between .5 to 1.7 MG.
Symptoms of magnesium deficiency. Bone loss, hardening of the arteries, fatigue or fibromyalgia, leg cramps or muscle tremors, nausea, anxiety, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, respiratory issues, dizziness, inability to absorb potassium, poor memory and confusion, sugar cravings, inflammatory bowel, high estrogen or progesterone, difficulty sleeping, and migraine headaches. It takes a very high amount of magnesium to become toxic to the body around 5000 MG. Excess magnesium causes diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, lethargy, low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, urine retention, respiratory distress, and can cause kidney damage. Magnesium helps with cellular uptake of calcium and potassium.
Symptoms of calcium deficiency are brittle or weak bones, issues with blood clotting, fatigue, sensation of pins or needles, irritability, irregular heart rhythms. Excess salt intake can hinder calcium absorption . Magnesium and vitamin D deficiency can prevent calcium from being absorbed. Parathyroid issues can prevent calcium from being absorbed. Symptoms of too much calcium are dehydration, frequent urination, constipation, fatigue, vomiting, confusion, renal failure, muscle spasms, seizures, bone pain, increased risk for cardiovascular disease from hardening of the arteries, bone pain, mood disorders kidney stones, stomach pain, and constipation. Recommended daily allowance is 200 to 500 MG of calcium. It is best to get calcium from food sources when possible.
Symptoms of vitamin A deficiency are poor vision from the damage that occurs to the eyes, night blindness, dry scaly skin around the eyes, coarse hair, frequent respiratory infections. Keratonisation of the urinary tract, intestines and mucous membrane. It takes extremely high dose around 100,000 IU to be considered toxic. Symptoms of toxicity are headache, skin rashes, nausea, vomiting, irritability, drowsiness, brain swelling, bone spurs, elevated triglyceride levels.
Symptoms of vitamin K deficiency are excessive bleeding, easily bruised, nose bleeds, bleeding gums, blood in urine or stool, calcification of blood vessels, cardiovascular disease and bone density loss. The synthetic form of vitamin K (menadione) is very toxic to the body and damages the liver. Symptoms of overdose are nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, yellowing of the skin, low iron levels in blood, liver damage from hyperbilirubinemia, biliruben induced brain damage (kernicterus).
Molybdenum deficiency is rare but issues with certain genes can cause molybdenum cofactor deficiency. This causes issues with sulfation. High levels of glyphosate can cause molybdenum deficiency because it chelates it in the soil and if there are high levels of glyphosate in the body it will chelate it in the body. In China there is a deficiency of molybdenum in the soil but in most areas we get adequate amounts of molybdenum in our diets if we are not consuming foods high in glyphosate or glufonisate. Molybdenum helps prevent Wilson’s disease. If we are deficient it can effect the BH4 and CBS pathways and cause high ammonia levels. 45 UG is the recommended daily allowance but in organic food we get much higher levels then that so is not necessary if we are consuming organic foods especially if locally grown and not from farms that have been over farmed. Glyphosate and glufonisate also increase H2S producing bacteria. Excess H2S can cause cancer low blood pressure and many other health problems. Molybdenum decrease H2S, it reacts with H2S and molybdenum is formed. Glyphosate and fluoroquinolones can cause high copper levels in tissues throughout the body. This is very damaging to the body. Thiolmolybdenum chealates copper from the body so it helps with Wilson’s disease and copper toxicity. But that can also cause a problem because excess thiolmolybdenum may cause copper deficiency.
Folate is vitamin B9. Folic Acid is the synthetic form and is toxic to the body. Often times medical professionals and scientific researchers incorrectly use the terms folate and folic acid interchangeably which is and error because there is a big difference in how the body uses folate and folic acid. Folic acid can damage the brain and increases risk of cancer. Folate actually protect our brain and reduces risk of cancer. If you see someone or an article that is interchangeably using the terms folate and folic acid be very skeptical of the advice because it indicates they do not know the difference and do not realize how toxic folic acid is. Most information on the internet if not accurate when it comes to folate and folic acid. Dr. Axe is the only one I have seen who has a full comprehension of the difference between the two and the ill health effects of folic acid. They believe that folic acid is more bioavailable but the body produces very little of the enzyme needed to convert folic acid to a usable form and the end result is unmetabolized folic acid entering the blood stream which has many ill effects on our health. Symptoms of folate deficiency are impaired immune function, low energy or fatigue, poor digestion, constipation, bloating, inflammatory bowel, anemia, canker sores, mood swings or irritability, pale skin, premature graying of hair. Symptoms of excess folate are nausea, gas or bloating, odd taste in mouth, depression or over excitability, increased risk for nerve damage. Recommended daily allowance is 800 MG.
Symptoms of manganese deficiency are osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus, siezures, low immunity, severe pms, hormonal imbalances, impaired glucose sensitivity, infertility, impaired antioxidant capacity. Symptoms of toxicity are neurological damage, cognitive decline and behaviour deficits, hyper activity, excess also increases risk of Parkinson’s. If you have certain health issues it can cause you to retain too much manganese. You should have your levels checked before taking it. Recommended daily allowances are around 1.8 MG.
Symptoms of vitamin E deficiency are peripheral neuropathy, muscle weakness, retinopathy, anemia, excess oxidative stress, impaired immune function. Symptoms of toxicity is impaired blood clotting increased risk of certain cancers.
Deficiency is rare but there are many health conditions that can cause a deficiency. Also high glyphosate or glufonisate levels can also cause a copper deficiency. This is one that I would recommend reading the links I provided before deciding to take a copper supplement. Symptoms of deficiency are anemia, bone abnormalities and osteoporosis, low immunity, impaired growth, premature whitening of hair, pale skin, neurological issues, imbalance in thyroid hormones.. Symptoms of toxicity are nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, kidney damage and anemia. Recommended daily allowance is about 800 UG.
Symptoms of deficiency can be fatigue, hypothyroidism, weight gain, impaired immunity, impaired liver function, difficulty breathing. Symptoms of excess are nausea or vomiting, bad breath, fever, possible liver damage. Recommended daily allowance 55 MCG.
This is a nutrient a person should research and understand before taking it. High iron levels can cause a lot of damage in the body. Also there are illnesses that can make a person appear to be low in iron when in actuality they have toxic levels of iron. Symptoms of iron deficiency are fatigue or weakness, problems with cognitive function and memory, headaches, dizziness, dry brittle hair and nails, strange cravings for things such as metal, dirt, paper, or starchy foods, frequent infections, shortness of breath, sore tongue and restless leg syndrome.
Symptoms of iron overload are abdominal cramping, blackening of stools, constipation, nausea, vomiting, internal bleeding, low blood pressure, dehydration, liver damage. Iron toxicity also increase risk of Alzheimer’s , Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
Symptoms of deficiency are loss of apetite, muscle weakness, fragile bones, bone deformities, softening of the bones, numbness, frequent infection, tooth decay, anxiety and trouble consentrating. Symptoms of excess phosphorous are cardiovascular disease, renal disease, kidney stones and poor absorption of minerals. Recommended daily allowance is 700 MG.
Symptoms of deficiency are impaired neurological function, increased susceptibility to infection, lung disease, allergies, acne or rashes, hypothyroidism which results in thinning hair, preclamsia during pregnancy, increased risk of type 2 diabetes, increased risk of Alzheimer, depression. Symptoms of excess zinc are copper deficiency, macular degeneration, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Recommended daily allowance is 8 MG.
Deficiency in Thiamine is referred to as beriberi which results in muscle weakness, chronic fatigue, swollen heart, psychosis, nerve damage, poor apetite, rapid weight loss, colitis, digestive problems, burning feet especially at night, short term memory loss, confusion, irritability, muscle weakness or muscle loss, muscle pain or muscle cramps, mental apathy or depression, and a condition referred to as wet asthma. It takes and extremely high dose to be toxic and is unlikely. Excess amounts can cause anaphylaxis. Recommended daily allowance is 1.1 MG.
Deficiency is known as pellagra the symptoms can be sensitivity to sunlight, dermatitis, diarrhea or constipation, dementia, inflammation in the mucous membrane, mouth and tongue, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, apathy, fatigue, depression, disorientation, memory loss. Symptoms of toxicity are flushing, nausea and vomiting, low blood pressure, headaches, elevated liver enzymes, jaundice, constipation, impaired glucose tolerance from elevated glucose levels in the blood, gout, low blood pressure, stomach or intestinal ulcers. Recommended daily allowance is 1.3 MG.
Deficiency is known as Ariboflavinosis. A deficiency can cause preclampsia, sore throat, redness and swelling in throat, mouth, and tongue, cracks or sores on lips and corners of the mouth, moist scaly inflammation in the skin, excess blood vessel growth in the clear part of the eyes, itching bloodshot or watering of the eyes, blurred vision and light sensitivity, reduced red blood cell count. It takes extremely high amounts to be toxic. It can be more toxic if high levels of chromium are present. Toxicity symptoms are kidney stones, numbness, burning or prickling sensations. Recommend daily allowance is 1.3 MG.
We need very little nickel so it should not be supplemented but we should get it from food sources. Symptoms of deficiency are allergies, frequent urinary tract infections, paralysis, liver and lung inflammation, anemia and carbohydrate intolerance. Symptoms of toxicity are digestive problems, high red blood cell count, kidney failure, increased risk of lung cancer and zinc like deficiency syndrome. Recommended daily allowance 100 MG.
We can suffer from vitamin deficiencies if we lack the microbiota that produce the vitamins for us. For example many B vitamins are produce by our microbiota, vitamin K2, B12, folate and thiamine.
