Could others be trying to seat themselves on Jesus throne?

Written by Lee Stevenson sorry I am not a very good editor.

God seated Jesus on the throne and appointed him as the judge. He will judge both the living and the dead. It is not our job to judge others. We are to forgive others and we are not to judge them. If we go through life judging others by speculating on their motives, by making assumptions about their behavior that may not be true, or by having a hatred towards them we are judging them. When we judge others we put ourselves under judgment which means our sins are not forgiven. This stands to reason, if you are doing something that is Jesus rightful place to do then we are in a sense telling God we believe we deserve the throne Jesus is seated on. There is nothing we could do that could surpass what Jesus has done. He earned that throne. His faith, loyalty and obedience to God was perfect. None of us could come close to being as perfect as Jesus is to be able to earn the right to sit on his throne. So if we are judging others, could we be telling God we lack the humility to accept that we are imperfect? We do not have the right to judge others but that right is Jesus’s. There are some who will be princes with Jesus that will also be judges but they are chosen by God and their time for judging is not yet. So even those chosen to be princes with Jesus should not be judging others yet.

Many of the apostles were of the 144,000 who will be appointed as princes who will rule with Jesus and will also judge. But they were not permitted to judge others while on earth because the time of judgment was not yet. Even Jesus stated he was not on the earth to judge during his ministry on earth. He even acknowledged the time for judging was not here yet. That will occur on God’s great day of judgment. By judging other before the time of judgment, even if a person is part of the 144,000 they are not obeying Christ because the day of judgment will occur when God says it is to occur.

If we are judging someone it means we have not forgiven them or we view ourselves as superior to them. We are to view others as if they were superior to ourselves and we are to forgive even our enemies. If we do not forgive others our prayers are not only hindered but may not be heard by God. If we are judging others and not forgiving them then we keep ourselves under judgment and will be judged by the same standards we judge others with. In other words if we are not forgiving towards others then we will not be forgiven and be judged likewise. If we seek revenge on others we are judging them. If we take any negative actions towards someone out of anger or a vengeful heart we are judging them.

We can hate the bad someone does but we should not hate the person. We all fall short of God and are growing spiritually every day. If we believe we do not sin the bible says we are a liar. If no one sinned God would not have had to have the bible written to guide us. If we are comparing our lives to others and determining we are less sinful then they are then we are judging them. I am not talking about those who sin even though they know God’s word. Those ones the bible tells us will be judge because they have no excuse for their continuing to sin. Others will be judged during God’s great day of judgment. This is a great day because all wickedness and suffering will be done away with. The bible tells us we must exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. This means as we learn what God requires , and learn what Jesus would have done , we apply it in our lives and practice it. Those who know what God requires but does not exercise faith and practice it will be judged. So we need to learn to exercise our faith and to not judge others.

Clearly no human has earned the right to be seated on the throne that God has handed to Jesus. He is a righteous and merciful king. He loves us, he he has proven it by willingly giving his life for us as a ransom. If someone is having a rough time or has experienced a very bad day, they may not be as kind as usual or may need shown mercy or kindness. How horrible it would be if we talked abusively of someone and made accusations towards them only to find out they suffered severe loss or was going hungry or had become homeless and we made things worse for them.

(John 5:22, 23) 22 For the Father judges no one at all, but he has entrusted all the judging to the Son, 23 so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

(2 Corinthians 5:9, 10) 9 So whether at home with him or absent from him, we make it our aim to be acceptable to him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of the Christ, so that each one may be repaid according to the things he has practiced while in the body, whether good or bad.

(Luke 6:37, 38) 37 “Moreover, stop judging, and you will by no means be judged; and stop condemning, and you will by no means be condemned. Keep on forgiving, and you will be forgiven. 38 Practice giving, and people will give to you. They will pour into your laps a fine measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing. For with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you in return.”

(1 Corinthians 4:3-5) 3 Now to me it is of very little importance to be examined by you or by a human tribunal. In fact, I do not even examine myself. 4 For I am not conscious of anything against myself. But by this I am not proved righteous; the one who examines me is Jehovah. 5 Therefore, do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes. He will bring the secret things of darkness to light and make known the intentions of the hearts, and then each one will receive his praise from God.

(Matthew 24:36-38) 36 “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38 For as they were in those days before the Flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

(Acts 17:30, 31) . . .. 31 Because he has set a day on which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a guarantee to all men by resurrecting him from the dead. . .

(Matthew 6:14) “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you;

(Mark 11:25) And when you stand praying, forgive whatever you have against anyone, so that your Father who is in the heavens may also forgive you your trespasses.”

(Romans 12:9) 9 Let your love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is wicked; cling to what is good.

(Galatians 6:9, 10) . . .. 10 So, then, as long as we have the opportunity, let us work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to us in the faith.

(Romans 12:19-21) 19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “‘Vengeance is mine; I will repay,’ says Jehovah.” 20 But “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap fiery coals on his head.” 21 Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good.

(Proverbs 8:13) 13 The fear of Jehovah means the hating of bad. I hate self-exaltation and pride and the evil way and perverse speech.

(1 Peter 2:1-3) 2 So rid yourselves of all badness and deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all backbiting. 2 As newborn infants, form a longing for the unadulterated milk of the word, so that by means of it you may grow to salvation, 3 provided you have tasted that the Lord is kind.

(James 1:19-21) 19 Know this, my beloved brothers: Everyone must be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger, 20 for man’s anger does not bring about God’s righteousness. 21 Therefore, put away all filthiness and every trace of badness, and accept with mildness the implanting of the word that is able to save you.

(Proverbs 6:16-19) 16 There are six things that Jehovah hates; Yes, seven things that he detests: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart plotting wicked schemes, and feet that run quickly to evil, 19 A false witness who lies with every breath, And anyone sowing contentions among brothers.

(Romans 3:23, 24) 23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and it is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous by his undeserved kindness through the release by the ransom paid by Christ Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 For the true God will judge every deed, including every hidden thing, as to whether it is good or bad.

(1 Timothy 5:24, 25) 24 The sins of some men are publicly known, leading directly to judgment, but those of other men become evident later. 25 In the same way also, the fine works are publicly known and those that are otherwise cannot be kept hidden.

(Ephesians 5:10-13) 10 Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord; 11 and stop sharing in the unfruitful works that belong to the darkness; rather, expose them for what they are. 12 For the things they do in secret are shameful even to mention. 13 Now all the things that are being exposed are made evident by the light, for everything that is being made evident is light.

(1 Corinthians 4:5) 5 Therefore, do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes. He will bring the secret things of darkness to light and make known the intentions of the hearts, and then each one will receive his praise from God.

(James 4:11, 12) 11 Stop speaking against one another, brothers. Whoever speaks against a brother or judges his brother speaks against law and judges law. Now if you judge law, you are not a doer of law but a judge. 12 There is only one who is Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and to destroy. But you, who are you to be judging your neighbor?

(Matthew 23:25, 26) 25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of greediness and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may also become clean.

(2 Timothy 4:14, 15) 14 Alexander the coppersmith did me a great deal of harm. Jehovah will repay him according to his deeds. 15 You too should be on guard against him, for he opposed our message to an excessive degree.

(3 John 9, 10) 9 I wrote something to the congregation, but Di·otʹre·phes, who likes to have the first place among them, does not accept anything from us with respect. 10 That is why if I come, I will call attention to the works he is doing in spreading malicious talk about us. Not being content with this, he refuses to welcome the brothers with respect; and those who want to welcome them, he tries to hinder and to throw out of the congregation.

(Ephesians 6:10-13) 10 Finally, go on acquiring power in the Lord and in the mightiness of his strength. 11 Put on the complete suit of armor from God so that you may be able to stand firm against the crafty acts of the Devil; 12 because we have a struggle, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places. 13 For this reason take up the complete suit of armor from God, so that you may be able to resist in the wicked day and, after you have accomplished everything, to stand firm.

(John 3:16-18) 16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world for him to judge the world, but for the world to be saved through him. 18 Whoever exercises faith in him is not to be judged. Whoever does not exercise faith has been judged already, because he has not exercised faith in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

(Revelation 20:11-15) 11 And I saw a great white throne and the One seated on it. From before him the earth and the heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. The dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the Grave gave up the dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. 14 And death and the Grave were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire. 15 Furthermore, whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled into the lake of fire.
