How wealth and a lack of mercy could result in our destruction.

Bible
How to use.

Many who are wealthy have a false sense of security but when Jehovah’s great day comes it will not protect them and he knows what they do and what is in their hearts. Those who do not help those in need will be held accountable and when they realize the wealth did not give them the security they believe it will be too late. We want to be careful not to fall into that trap.

(Isaiah 10:1-3) 10 Woe to those who are enacting harmful regulations and those who, constantly writing, have written out sheer trouble, 2 in order to push away the lowly ones from a legal case and to wrest away justice from the afflicted ones of my people, for the widows to become their spoil, and that they may plunder even the fatherless boys! 3 And what will YOU men do at the day of being given attention and at the ruin, when it comes from far away? Toward whom will YOU flee for assistance, and where will YOU leave YOUR glory. . .

(Proverbs 18:11) 11 The valuable things of the rich are his strong town, and they are like a protective wall in his imagination.

(Proverbs 11:4) Valuable things will be of no benefit on the day of fury, but righteousness itself will deliver from death

The bible warns us that pursuing wealth could jeopardize our future hope. It does not mean those who are wealthy will not be resurrected but it does warn us that it will make it more difficult.

(Matthew 19:23, 24) 23 But Jesus said to his disciples: “Truly I say to YOU that it will be a difficult thing for a rich man to get into the kingdom of the heavens. 24 Again I say to YOU, It is easier for a camel to get through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to get into the kingdom of God. . .

(Proverbs 22:22, 23) 22 Do not rob the lowly one because he is lowly, and do not crush the afflicted one in the gate. 23 For Jehovah himself will plead their cause, and he will certainly rob of soul those robbing them. . .

Death overcomes the wise, wealthy and the poor it is and eventuality we cannot avoid. But whether we are remembered by God or not in the day of resurrection will be based on how we responded to his instructions and whether we showed love for him through our actions.

(Psalm 49:10-17) 10 For he sees that even the wise ones die, Together the stupid one and the unreasoning one perish, And they must leave to others their means of maintenance. 11 Their inward wish is that their houses may be to time indefinite, Their tabernacles to generation after generation. They have called their landed estates by their names. 12 And yet earthling man, though in honor, cannot keep lodging; He is indeed comparable with the beasts that have been destroyed. 13 This is the way of those who have stupidity, And of those coming after them who take pleasure in their very mouthings. Se′lah. 14 Like sheep they have been appointed to She′ol itself; Death itself will shepherd them; And the upright ones will have them in subjection in the morning, And their forms are due to wear away; She′ol rather than a lofty abode is for each one. 15 However, God himself will redeem my soul from the hand of She′ol, For he will receive me. Se′lah. 16 Do not be afraid because some man gains riches, Because the glory of his house increases, 17 For at his death he cannot take along anything at all; His glory will not go down along with him himself.

(Luke 12:15-31) . . .” 16 With that he spoke an illustration to them, saying: “The land of a certain rich man produced well. 17 Consequently he began reasoning within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, now that I have nowhere to gather my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my storehouses and build bigger ones, and there I will gather all my grain and all my good things; 19 and I will say to my soul: “Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, enjoy yourself.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Unreasonable one, this night they are demanding your soul from you. Who, then, is to have the things you stored up?’ 21 So it goes with the man that lays up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.” 22 Then he said to his disciples: “On this account I say to YOU, Quit being anxious about YOUR souls as to what YOU will eat or about YOUR bodies as to what YOU will wear. 23 For the soul is worth more than food and the body than clothing. 24 Mark well that the ravens neither sow seed nor reap, and they have neither barn nor storehouse, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more worth are YOU than birds? 25 Who of YOU by being anxious can add a cubit to his life span? 26 If, therefore, YOU cannot do the least thing, why be anxious about the remaining things? 27 Mark well how the lilies grow; they neither toil nor spin; but I tell YOU, Not even Sol′o·mon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these. 28 If, now, God thus clothes the vegetation in the field that today exists and tomorrow is cast into an oven, how much rather will he clothe YOU, YOU with little faith! 29 So quit seeking what YOU might eat and what YOU might drink, and quit being in anxious suspense; 30 for all these are the things the nations of the world are eagerly pursuing, but YOUR Father knows YOU need these things. 31 Nevertheless, seek continually his kingdom, and these things will be added to YOU.

They store up treasures on earth which are temporary and will be gone. The price they may pay could be the forfeiture of eternal life. That is a heavy price to pay for a mere few years that man live in abundance of worldly things. We should store up treasures in heaven which no one can take and which will not rot away like the treasures on earth.

(James 2:5) Listen, my beloved brothers. God chose the ones who are poor respecting the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he promised to those who love him, did he not?

(Matthew 6:20) Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

(1 John 2:15-17) 15 Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 16 because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever. . .

Those who do not help the less fortunate will not be heard by God in the day of calamity.

(Proverbs 19:17) 17 He that is showing favor to the lowly one is lending to Jehovah, and his treatment He will repay to him. . .

(Proverbs 21:13) As for anyone stopping up his ear from the complaining cry of the lowly one, he himself also will call and not be answered

(James 2:13) For the one that does not practice mercy will have [his] judgment without mercy. Mercy exults triumphantly over judgment.

The bible did not promise we would not go through trials and tribulation. It promised we would not fear the calamity we know is coming.

(Proverbs 1:28-33) 28 At that time they will keep calling me, but I shall not answer; they will keep looking for me, but they will not find me, 29 for the reason that they hated knowledge, and the fear of Jehovah they did not choose. 30 They did not consent to my counsel; they disrespected all my reproof. 31 So they will eat from the fruitage of their way, and they will be glutted with their own counsels. 32 For the renegading of the inexperienced ones is what will kill them, and the easygoingness of the stupid is what will destroy them. 33 As for the one listening to me, he will reside in security and be undisturbed from dread of calamity.. . .

When God’s great day comes we do not want to let our hearts feel happy for their demise. It is sad and means their judgment and destruction has come. They no longer have the opportunity to repent.

(Proverbs 24:17) When your enemy falls, do not rejoice; and when he is caused to stumble, may your heart not be joyful,

If we have then we should share it and I know from personal experience it brings real happiness. I never worry that I may have shared with the wrong person. I worry that I may not have shared with the right person. Many have entertained angels and did not know it. What if an angel has been sent to test your heart? What if you refused that angel hospitality?

(Acts 20:31-35) 31 “Therefore keep awake, and bear in mind that for three years, night and day, I did not quit admonishing each one with tears. 32 And now I commit YOU to God and to the word of his undeserved kindness, which [word] can build YOU up and give YOU the inheritance among all the sanctified ones. 33 I have coveted no man’s silver or gold or apparel. 34 YOU yourselves know that these hands have attended to the needs of me and of those with me. 35 I have exhibited to YOU in all things that by thus laboring YOU must assist those who are weak, and must bear in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he himself said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.’”

(Hebrews 13:2) 2 Do not forget hospitality, for through it some, unknown to themselves, entertained angels. . .

If we have and do not share we may be rejected by Jesus and the door to the kingdom could be closed for us. So if possible we should share when we can.

(Matthew 25:34-40) 34 “Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, YOU who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for YOU from the founding of the world. 35 For I became hungry and YOU gave me something to eat; I got thirsty and YOU gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and YOU received me hospitably; 36 naked, and YOU clothed me. I fell sick and YOU looked after me. I was in prison and YOU came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous ones will answer him with the words, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty, and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and receive you hospitably, or naked, and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to you?’ 40 And in reply the king will say to them, ‘Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did it to one of the least of these my brothers, YOU did it to me.. . .

(Matthew 25:41-46) 41 “Then he will say, in turn, to those on his left, ‘Be on YOUR way from me, YOU who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels. 42 For I became hungry, but YOU gave me nothing to eat, and I got thirsty, but YOU gave me nothing to drink. 43 I was a stranger, but YOU did not receive me hospitably; naked, but YOU did not clothe me; sick and in prison, but YOU did not look after me.’ 44 Then they also will answer with the words, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them with the words, ‘Truly I say to YOU, To the extent that YOU did not do it to one of these least ones, YOU did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will depart into everlasting cutting-off, but the righteous ones into everlasting life.. . .

How we live our lives determines if we will resurrected to a resurrection of life or judgement.

(John 5:27-29) . . .. 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgmen. . .

The contrast between those who are cut off and those who have been blessed has been drawn in Revelation.

(Revelation 20:11-15) . . .. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. 14 And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire. 15 Furthermore, whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled into the lake of fire. . .

(Revelation 21:1-4) 21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

We know the fire of God’s rage is exposing this system for what it is. We need to be patient because he desires none to be destroyed. Until he has gathered all the sheep together this system will not end but we do know the end is very very near so we need to stay focus on spiritual thing now more then ever.

(2 Peter 3:5-10) 5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men. 8 However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. 9 Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. 10 Yet Jehovah’s day will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a hissing noise, but the elements being intensely hot will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be discovered. . .
