Written by Lee Stevenson, sorry I am not the best editor.
This is not medical advice and should not be taken as such. I am posting this for educational and informational purposes. I have a book on Amazon I have published on oxalates. I tried to summarize things to help guide people so they could overcome issues with oxalates. It is my only source of income presently. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMJFMQKF
Avoid GMOs they cause leaky gut and gut dysbiosis. If you do not know about them read my post on them. They and the chemicals used on them cause oxalates which I mention later in this article. They kill our good gut microbes. This is a list of gut microbiota and what conditions they help with.
Mucilage every few hours helps a lot with leaky gut. When you have leaky gut it causes high oxalate levels. This causes a cycle that is hard to break because oxalates prevent the gut from healing. Mucilage can help heal the gut breaking the cycle. Mucilage helped me the most with healing my gut.
Things that are high in mucilage are Okra, organic Oatmeal, Aloe Vera I found the liquid gel worked the best dried aloe vera seemed ineffective. Besella Alba known as Malabar Spinach, Irish moss but you have to watch consuming it, it has a cannabinoid that reduces pain but has side effects if you consume too much. Most plants in the mallow family are very high in mucilage and have very good healing properties. Most plants in the dioscera family are high in mucilage especially the chinese wild yam. Fenugreek is high in mucilage. Flax seeds are high mucilage but if you have leaky gut they should be ground up to prevent other heath issues. Most seaweeds are high in mucilage. Licorice root is high mucilage but you have to make sure it is deglycyrrhizinated if not it can cause many health problems. Mullein is high mucilage and helps with lung infections. Most edible plants in the daisy and sunflower family are high in mucilage. Wild Daisy helped me a lot. Pysillium seed husk are high in mucilage they are seeds from the plantain herb. Plantain herb itself is very high in mucilage. Wild violet is very high in mucilage. Chia seed is high in mucilage most seed is. Slippery Elm is high in mucilage but some claim it is high oxalate , I have never tried it. Most roots herbs are high in mucilage. Arrow root is very high in mucilage.

If you have been damaged by GMOs or antibiotics and have gut dysbiois and it feels like you have a brick in your gut after you eat, you may not be producing enough intrinsic factor which is needed in order for your body to absorb vitamin B12. A deficiency in B12 causes many serious health problems. These are some things that may increase intrinsic factor.

We need to avoid Omega 6 oils. Most of that comes from corn oil,soy bean oil, vegetable oil, and lard. Most of those are from GMOs also. They will cause inflammation in the body if we get too much.
Probiotics are one of the keys to healing the gut. They should be geared to what health issues we are dealing with.

Healing Leaky Gut
It is very important to
If you have Lyme there is very little knowledge in the medical community to assist with healing and fighting the disease it and other infections can raise zonulin levels causing leaky gut.. There are a few elite doctors who cared enough to do their own research. This is not medical advice. I am posting this to enable people to find the things they need to research to aid in their own healing. Always let your doctor know if you have any diet changes or you take any supplements. Always listen to your body, because it will tell you what is good for it and what is not. When you make any diet changes, whether it is supplements or food, only make one or two changes at a time so that if you have a reaction you will be able to identify what the cause of the problem is.
When you have leaky gut food particles can get into your blood stream which will raise your histamine levels. Signs of raised histamine levels are burning skin , headaches, confusion, fatigue, muscle spasms, blocked urinary track. The list goes on and on so it is very important to get the gut healed or you cannot fight infection or heal.
Healing the Gut
If you have any digestive problems you must take care of those first. Everything is tied to the digestive tract, even the brain. Problems with digestion can lead to a domino effect leading to trouble with hormones, bladder, liver the cardiovascular system, autoimmune system, and even mental health. If you do not get digestive problems taken care of you are fighting a losing battle whatever else you do.
Primary to getting the gut to heal is avoiding foods containing GMOs. They have been shown to damage the digestive system, among other issues.
If you are fighting an infection or dysbiosis the die off can cause bloating. I had to ease into things so I did not bloat too bad. Many probiotics can cause die off of pathogens and some of the bad gut bacteria which will also cause bloating.
Liquid Aloe Vera — this coats the stomach and helps it heal. It has also been shown to fight Candida and H-Pylori when they have switched from commensal to pathogenic forms. Has been shown to reduce oxalates.
Mucilage helps heal the gut. Some wild plants are high in mucilage like Wild Violets and Dandelion, the roots of Evening Primrose are high in mucilage. Plants in the mallow family are high in mucilage. Marshmallow root has many healing properties. The plants with the highest mucilage content are Spinach Vine, Irish Moss, Wild Yam, Fenugreek, Crushed Flax seed, Kelp, Marshmallow Root, Mullein, Okra, Psylium husk which is from the seeds of plantain herb, chia seeds and Broad Leaf Plantain herb. Some may have oxalates but we cannot avoid oxalates we need to address the issues causing high oxalates. Almost all foods have oxalates, cooking breaks down oxalates. But avoiding oxalates entirely will cause you more health problems then it would cure.
Mastic Gum — coats the stomach and has also been shown to fight many pathogens. This is
dried sap from the mastic tree and can be found in health food stores. Coating the stomachache is very important. I know mucilage can inhibit nutrient absorption but you cannot heal if you do not coat your stomach.
Biofilms
This is a list of things that break biofilms or aid the gut in healing. When the biofilms break up you will defecate mucous for about a month sometimes it will appear as if it is a piece of your intestine. I found that very scary and had to ask people who have went through it what it was. There is no information I could find to explain it. Breaking Biofilms is very important in healing our gut if our gut issues are from an infection..
Propolis — a resin produced by bees, so anyone with allergies to bees should not use this one. It has been shown to bust biofilms, kill many pathogens, and to promote gut healing.
Pepto-Bismol — I kept this on hand for when the aloe vera didn’t seem to help. You have to be careful you can herx from this because bismuth kills many pathogens. Bismuth has been shown to also break up biofilms.
phospholipids (good fats) – omega 3s are the best to use. Oils like grape seed oil, sesame seed oil , olive oil contain omaega 3s. Try avoiding Omega 6 it is needed by the body but if we get too much it can cause inflammation.
Garlic- garlic has many healing properties along with breaking up biofilms a killing pathogens. If you have high sulfite levels from having too many sulfur digesting bacteria this will make you ill because it is high sulfur and will raise your sulfite levels. I had this problem but one of the most potent chemicals in garlic is allicin and it does not cause issues with sulfites. I used it and it worked very well for me.
Stevia- it has to be Stevia extract because it needs the cofactors to work. Make sure you get organic because there is GMO Stevia. It also kills many pathogens including Lyme.
Xylitol-has very potent antibiotic properties. Many get cramps when they use it. I got cramps but I had an infected tooth and it worked very well for taking the infection out.
Cinnamon – breaks biofilms, high in mucilage coats the stomachache and helps with nausea. It has been shown to inhibit pain.
Cholesterol breaks biofilms is needed by almost all cells in the body. The brain and heart cannot function without it. Oxidative stress from leaky gut can cause high oxLDL. If you avoid cholesterol because of that you will be inhibiting your bodies ability to heal. When you reduce the source of the oxidative stress your oxLDL will return to normal. Cholesterol is an antioxidant and is used by the body to protect cells from pathogens. Cholesterol is needed to maintain the integrity of the digestive system and bladder.
Chlorophyll – fights Candida, helps remove toxins such as heavy metals from the body, and improves the health of our blood, as well as to protect the good bacteria. Sources of chlorophyll include green leafy vegetables and seaweed, but make sure the seaweed has come from a non-contaminated source. You can purchase liquid chlorophyll. I only used it for about a week and then I backed off to three times a week. There are many health benefits to liquid chlorophyll. It raises oxygen levels in the blood and restores the ph of our bladder and digestive system. It fights many pathogens. It feeds the good gut bacteria while reducing the bad. Those with SIBO will bloat when using this and herx from the die off of the sulfur digesting and methane producing bacteria. If you have SIBO and are going to use chlorophyll I would ease into using it. Liquid chlorophyll also raises oxygen levels in the body and helps restore the health of our blood cells.
Apple cider vinegar – helps fight Candida, breaks up biofilms and kills pain better then aspiron.
Mushrooms — bust biofilms, kill Candida, and fight many other diseases. Most mushrooms will do this. Mushrooms also contain glycoproteins which improve the bodies cell to cell communication so you can heal quicker. Glycoproteins also kill many pathogens so you could herx from them. Mushrooms also contain Beta Glucan which helps restore the good gut bacteria and fights pathogens.
Coconut oil — breaks biofilms and kills pathogens. It can even cross the blood brain barrier and improves brain health. The body converts coconut oil’s lauric acid to monolauren, which has been shown to fight many pathogens, reduce the number of Lyme spyrochetes in Lyme sufferers, and also crosses the blood brain barrier to contribute to improved brain health. Coconut oil contains many of the electrolytes needed by the body. When ill you need more electrolytes then usual.
Bromelain – breaks up biofilms helps fight pathogens , helps with digestion and reduces ammonia in the body.
Flax seed oil — breaks biofilms and fights pathogens. It has Omega-3 fatty acids which help protect the digestive system. Do not use too much flax seed and alternate the days you take it. Taking too much seems to cancel out its health benefits. Also has a canibinoid similar to thc so it reduces pain.
Inulin — promotes healthy bacteria in the digestive system, aiding in the break down and absorption of nutrients. Some sources of inulin are onions, garlic, bananas, dandelion root, chicory root, Jerusalem artichoke, asparagus, barley.
Oxalates.
Symptoms of high oxalates is joint pain, mental fog, anxiety , depression, kidney and liver pain, muscle fatigue, digestive pain, bladder pain, vulvodynia, indigestion when foods containing oxalates are consumed, and skin rashes. Many things can cause oxalates. Metabolic issues, leaky gut, high histamines, gut dysbiosis which cause there to be too many sulfur digesting and methane producing bacteria, which cause high sulfite level and high hydroxy radical levels which result in oxidative stress which also causes oxalates. Toxins such as glyphosate, glufosinate and many other farm chemicals. Also heavy metals, endotoxins, and alfoxins can cause oxalates to form.

http://bioindividualnutrition.com/oxalates-their-influence-on-chronic-disease/
Oxalates break down when cooked so foods that are high in oxalates like spinach make sure you cook before eating. We cannot avoid oxalates they are in most food.
Oxalates prevent the body from healing and also hinder the gut from healing. That becomes a viscous cycle because when you have leaky gut you will develop high histamines and toxins can easily enter the blood stream, those also cause oxalates. Endotoxins and Afloxin can also cause oxalates. So it is very important to detox. Also metablolic issues and high sulfite levels can cause high oxalates so those should be addressed before detoxing. High sulfite levels can be caused from having too many sulfur digesting bacteria (gut dysbiosis). That in itself will cause many health issues like high ammonia levels. You can heal the gut with high oxalate levels but you must consume a lot of high mucilage foods to coat and protect the gut.
Here is a list of some things that reduce oxalates. I will post some links to some information also.

Oxalates cause inflammation.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3807999/
We have gut bacteria that breaks down oxalates. If we are deficient in them it will raise our oxalate levels. They need the other friendly gut microbiome to establish. If we are lacking in the other gut bacteria they will not establish when we take them. They require an oligosaccharide to get established and remain in the gut. The also need sugar the type found in fruit , honey, or maple syrup will help them establish.

Oxalobacter Formingene
Bififobacterium Adolescentis
Bifidobacteriium Anamalis
Lactobacillus Acidophilus
Lactobacillus Gasseri
Lactobacillus Rhamnosus
Lactobacillus Planatarum
Enterococcus Faecalis reduces oxalates but consuming to much salt inhibits it’s ability to degrade oxalates.
Make sure you drink plenty of water. It needs to be free of chlorine or flouride because they cause oxalates and are very toxic to the body.
Avoid artificial sweeteners and processed sugar they can cause oxalates.
Sodium bicarbonate- be careful do not use more then a tablespoon in a glass of water it is a very strong base which means in high amounts it can cause burns. I only took it about 3 times a week.
Citric Acid which is not vitamin C helps reduce oxalates. Lemon juice is a good source of citric acid. It irritated my gut if I used it straight so I put it in my water with a little honey.
Do not take calcium get it from natural sources , calcium reduces oxalates but the calcium found in many supplements is the wrong type and can cause oxalates. Stinging nettles is one of the best sources of calcium. Most foods contain adequate amounts of calcium. If someone has bone loss it is usually from a magnesium or silica deficiency.
Excess salt causes oxalates. I use sea salt. Studies have found using sea salt cuts the craving for salt because of the trace minerals it contains.
Magnesium Citrate reduces oxalates. Also there are many metabolic pathways that need magnesium. When they do not have the nutrients they need oxalates can be produced.
Phytic acid found in grains can cause oxalates. We need phytic acid but should limit our intake of grains.
Foods that raise histamines like fermented foods, aged meats and some cheeses, also yogurt. High histamine levels can cause oxalates.
Vitamin B6 reduces oxalates, I had to use P5P because I wasn’t converting B6/
Vitamin E reduces oxalates. Most seeds contain vitamin E. If you eat flax seeds they have to be crushed or you will not digest them. Avocados are high in vitamin E. Also Olive oil is high in vitamin E. Mango and hazel nuts .
NAC N-Acetyl Cysteine reduces oxalates.
https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10715762.2016.1221507?journalCode=ifra20
Aloe Vera has been shown to reduce oxalates.
Thiamine deficiency can cause high oxalates.
https://alobar.livejournal.com/2510679.html
Do not take more then 4000 IU of vitamin D it can cause oxaltes in very high doses.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8382134
Vitamin D in the correct amounts actually reduces oxalalates. There is a saying the poison is in the dose. I often find that to be true.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19734276
The flavonoids found in the white part of citrus fruits will reduce oxalates.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4616898/
Eating too much meat can cause oxalates to form. mainly in those with metabolic issues.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1455427/
Spirulina reduces oxalates but some with high sulfite levels may have trouble with it. I can take it now but it did make me worse because it is high in sulfur.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3972226/
http://redmountainclinic.com/the-down-side-to-high-oxalates-problems-with-sulfate-b6-gut-and-methylation/
We need vitamin C to heal. Ester-C has been shown to actually reduce oxalates and can usually be taken by those with interstitial cystitis.
If you have excess oxidative stress it can cause oxalates to form so it must be addressed.
Molybdenum helps reduce ammonia which can cause oxidative stress. Do not take too much it can be toxic if it get to high in our bodies. Many metabolic pathways need it but we do not want to overload on it.

Herbs for Healing
salsify, and burdock root. Some people are allergic to foods that contain inulin. Most foods that contain fiber that is hard to digest will help balance and protect the good gut bacteria. The allergic reaction is most likely a herx reaction and not an allergic reaction.
Acanthus Ilicifolius – increases production of osteoblast which are necessary for bone growth and health. Has been shown to help gastric ulcers heal. Has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Embilia Ribes (False Black Pepper) — helps with flatulence, kills parasites, decreases homocysteine levels, and reduces symptoms of brain disorders. Lowering homocysteine levels would help with allergies and mast cell activation syndrome.
Pectin — breaks biofilms and lowers bad cholesterol. Pectin is a type of fiber. Food sources include apricots, peaches, apples, bananas, oranges, grapes, carrots, tomatoes and white potatoes.
Phospholipids — protect the digestive system, promote healing, and protect against cancer and infections. Some sources of phospholipids are butter, ghee, and mercury-free fish oil.
Butyric acid — protects our digestive system from infection, protects the body from cancer, aids in breaking food down into smaller particles that are easier for our bodies to absorb and make use of the nutrients. Butyric acid is produced when we consume hard to digest fiber, such as that in celery. It can also be found in ghee and butter. Also some of our microbiome produce this from fiber we consume.
Clove oil — has been shown to fight many pathogens and settles your stomach. This one really helped me because I was having trouble eating due to the nausea from my leaky gut.
Restoring Gut bacteria.
Probiotics — help restore the good bacteria to our digestive system, fight pathogens, and break down our foods. Choose a probiotic supplement with Bifidus and active Acidophilus cultures – the higher the number of cultures the better. The important gut bacteria to get is B Lactis , L Acidophilus, L Rhamnosus , L Salivarius, L Plantarum , B Animalis, B Longus, B Brevi, B Infantis.
Avoid things that contain Lactobaccilus Casei, L Lactis, L Reuteri, L Fermentum/Fermenti, L Paracaei, L Faecum , L Bulgaricus, Streptococcus Thermophilus.
If you start feeling bloated you may be getting to many good gut bacteria which can cause harm also. Get lots of prebiotics it feeds and protects the good gut bacteria and balances it out. Happy gut bacteria will help protect your immune system and help rebuild it.
Fireweed – Helps normalize gut flora, supports the good gut bacteria. Reduces inflammation and symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. High in mucilage which heals the gut.
Bone broth — helps leaky gut and has the added benefit of containing many nutrients. If you have high sulfite levels or sufation issues you will need to address them before using this. It is high in glutamate and those issues can cause high glutamate levels which will cause very bad headaches and brain fog.
L-Glutamine — helps heal the soft tissue in the gut and is involved in many metabolic processes, fueling white blood cells and many other cells. Unfortunately, animal flesh is the best source of L-glutamine. I say unfortunately because if you have methylation problems digesting meat may be difficult for you. Whey protein and other dairy products are high in L-glutamine, as are eggs, nuts, seeds, lentils and other legumes, but all contain phenylalanine, which can also create problems if you are not methylating right.
I take betaine (trimethylglycine), derived from beets, to aid with the methylation. It has helped me I now rarely get ill when eating things that contain phenylalanine. Bromelain and papaya enzymes are also supposed to help with methylation. Cabbage is a good source of L-glutamine. If you have a blocked or upregualted CBS pathway , or an upregulated BH4 pathway and don’t address it this could make you ill. Most with those issues would benefit from taking P5P, selenium, and magnesium citrate. Also three times a week molybdenum and manganese.
If the pathways for using phenylalanine is blocked then foods high in phenylalanine will raise your ammonia levels and histamine levels which in turn can give you phenylaturia or homocysteinuria. Phenylaturia causes high ammonia levels which alkalize the digestive system and bladder making us prone to infection and dysbiosis. Protease enzymes may help with that. Meat is high in phenylalanine if you get ill after eating meat then you may have a problem.
If you eat foods that raise your glutathione levels like cruciferous vegetables then you may have a CBS pathway blocked which can make you feel ill. What helped me with that was P5P, Methylcolobamine and Molybdenum which I only take a few times a week.
— Avoid things high in tannic acid, such as coffee.
— Do not drink alcohol.
— Many things in processed foods can cause leaky gut, so try to eat foods made from whole, fresh ingredients.
Processed Sugar causes inflammation so try your best to avoid it in all its forms. Other sugars like those found in fruits, honey, organic black strap molasses have been found to fight pathogens and actually promote healing.
Lowering Histamine levels. Leaky gut causes high histamine levels which causes a loop that prevents us from healing because histamines cause inflammation.
Avoid foods high in histamines especially fermented foods, cheese and yogurt. Also avoid aged meats. Everyone is different, some can eat one high histamine food and not another and vice versa.
Things that help lower histamine levels. There are many protease enzyme that help with that I used Bromelain and Betaine along with serrapeptase because it helps dissolve scar tissue caused by chronic disease and also lowers histamine levels. Be careful even those protease enzymes are good for lowering histamine and homocysteine levels if taken to often it can lower your homocysteine levels too low.
Other protease enzyme that are supposed to work well like Papain and Nattokinase I have never tried them. Nattokinase is supposed to help with renal and lymph blockages. Nattokinase is supposed to help reduce carcinogenic estrogen levels.
American Skullcap Tea – not to be confused with chinese which has different health benefits. American Skullcap promotes relaxation, reduces seizures, inhibits food allergies. Has amazing healing abilities. I did experience problems with this at first because it improve the health of blood vessels and helps repair nerves. When I started to heal my nerves and muscles woke up and all heck broke loose. I had bad charlie horuses and burning in my nerves for three days but once my body got used to them working again it was like a big weight was lifted off and I could feel myself healing.
Wasabi – reduces risk of cancer and heart disease, has anti-inflammatory properties. Helps fight bacterial infections. It also reduces allergy symptoms and detoxes the body. Wasabi is packed full of nutrients.
Detoxing
Luffa Gourd – Strengthens the immune system, reduces fevers, detoxifies the body and aids the body with hydration. Has been shown to reduce heart palpitations and hair loss.
Oregano Oil – contains Carvacrol which protects the liver, has been shown to inhibit cancer growth. Works as a good nontoxic disinfectant. Has been shown to be as affective as chlorine. It kills Candida and helps protect the cardiovascular system from LDL and reduces inflammation.
Kills many pathogens.
Carnosine – detoxes the bodies cells of heavy metals has been shown to reduce some aging. Good sources are avocados, beans, bran, brewers yeast, brown rice, nuts, seeds, watercress, and spirulina.
L-ornithine and arginine is needed in the urea cycle to remove ammonia and other toxins from the body. Good sources of these are legumes, vegetables, nuts, seafood and seeds.
Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja) Only the flowers are eaten, the rest of the plant is too high in selenium. Has similar health benefits as garlic. It enhances the immune system. Helps the body to detox, the rest of the plant is too high in selenium to consume.
Garlic , Dandelion Tea, Red Rooibos Tea, Chlorophyll and Rattan tea are all good at detoxing the body. The protease enzymes also help with detoxing.
Lemmongrass – Lowers LDL, helps get toxins out of the body and lowers uric acid levels. Has been shown to be affective against cancer.
The essential oil has antimicrobial properties and has been shown to be affective against H-Pylori. Has also been shown to aid colitis. Calms muscles and nerves Helps relive pain including headaches. Has been shown to reduce the occurrence of convulsions and helps repair the immune system.!!Be careful some have had an allergic reaction to this.!!
White Peony Root – reduces diabetes induced oxidative stress. Decreases urinary albumin. Protects the liver from oxidative stress. RDA is 100 to 200 mg per kilogram of weight.
These are things that helped me heal.
Research them to see if they would help you.
Silymarin- milk thistle, heals cell damage helps repair methylation pathways. Helps repair nerve damage. I have heard complaints of this making people ill this is because certain liver disease can cause high iron levels and milk thistle is high in iron.
Kelp – has iodine which is needed by the body to keep the thyroids unblocked and to detox the body. Also has mucilage which helps heal the gut.
Aegle Marmelos – leaves are used. Inhibits lipid peroxidation, protects cells from damage, has antibacterial properties. Has been shown to fight cancer and is an adaptogen. Used to reduce chronic fatigue symptoms.
Vitamin D3 protects the cardiovascular system and nerves. Helps keep the immune system healthy. Us natural man made has been shown to have side effects. You should not take more then 4,000 IU, high doses can cause oxalates.
Ubuquinol- unoxidized form of CoQ10, use to provide the chromosomes with energy.
Quercetin- Helps heal leaky gut and nerve damage. The highest sources are elderberry juice, capers, Lovage, radish leaves, dill, Juniper berries, onions, red leaf lettuce, watercress and hawthorne leaves.
Honeysuckle- helps with cardiovascular issues and heals smooth muscle. Helps detox the body. Has mucilage which helps heal the gut.
Myricetin- helps reduce the symptoms of diabetes. Also shown to protect the nerves. Good sources are parsley, currants, yellow dock, cranberries, seeds, and blueberries. Has been shown to fight viral infections.
Kudzu- reduces histamines, and eases gastrointestinal problems. Lowers sugar levels. Helps fight cancer and is affective at aiding in suppressing alcohol cravings. Has been used to treat angina. Is an adaptogen so will help with adrenal fatigue.
Bacopa – heals brain and nerves, improves memory. Reduces ammonia levels in the body. Helps heal blood vessels throughout the body. Amazing herb.
Barberry – reduces swelling in spleen, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Has been shown affective against protozoa infections.
Tart Cherry capsules – helps fight heart disease , cancer, neuro-degenerative disease. Protects against muscle damage.
Maca Root helps replenish nutrients especially electrolytes. Is an adoptogen helps to balance the bodies hormones.
Ellagic Acid – inhibits binding of carcinogens to DNA. Reduces oxidative stress.
Sources are Black Berries, Cranberries, Raspberries, Strawberries, Walnuts, Grapes and Peaches. Must be coated to survive the stomache acid.
Tyrosine – if you are not methylating properly your body cannot produce it. It is used by your body to build neuro transmitters and various proteins.
Good sources are nuts, avocados, bananas, dairy products, beans and seeds.
Lotus Root – Improves digestion, reduces LDL, reduces stress hormones, strengthens the immune system and is loaded with many nutrients. Helps heal the gut.
Moringa Oleifera reduces oxidative stress and the illnesses cause by it. Helps heal leaky gut and reduce the risk of kidney stones. Also fights many infections.
Black Currant Seed Oil (Ribes Nigrum) Good source of Gamma-Linolenic Acid. Reduces arthritis symptoms, gastritis, stimulates production of anti-inflammatory hormones, helps suppress Postglandulin E2 boosting the immune system. Has been shown to be very affective at protecting the body from the flu.
Gotu Kola – has many minerals needed by the body. Has been used to treat syphilis, hepatitiis and other infections. Improves blood flow and reduces swelling in the legs.
Wild Bergamot (Monarda Didyma) – also known as horse mint. reduces fevers and nausea. Helps prevent cell damage. Has very strong antimicrobial properties. Has been shown to reduce gastric pain.
Biacalein (Thihydroxyflavone) – From the roots of Scutelleria Baicalense , Scutelleria Lateriflorg, and Oroxylum Indicum, also found in plantain herb and fleabane. Anti-inflammatory, helps heal smooth muscle also has antidepressant properties.
Glycoproteins – molecules that contain a sugar and a protein. They permit healthy cell to cell communication. They have been shown to fight bacteria, viruses, and cancer. They prevent carcinogens from attacking cells and making changes. They have been shown to strengthen the immune system.
Some have allergic reactions to them. I suspect it may be a herx reaction to a pathogen they may have that is dying off.
Foods high in Glycoproteins are mushrooms like the Reishi, Maitake, Cordyceps, Shitake and Oyster Mushrooms. Many dark colored fruits and vegetables contain them. Another source is whey protein. If you buy whey protein be careful if you have methylation problems because many companies add phenylalanine.
Choline – Needed to break down fats so our bodies can use them. Choline also helps with nerve repair. It also helps provide the body with more energy. Sources of Choline are eggs and milk products. The white parts of melons and the seeds of melons. If you get ill or indigestion when eating high choline foods it could indicate you are dealing with porphyria. I have posted on it.
Sulfur – has antimicrobial properties, has been shown to kill Candida. Sulfur is used in most processes in the body. Helps protect the lymphatic system and keep it healthy which important in the proper function of the immune system. If we do not get enough sulfur our Lymphatic System can become blocked.
Good sources of Sulfur are cruciferous vegetables, onions, garlic, kale, egg yolks from free range chickens. Cooking helps release sulfur from foods. Those with methylations issues and high sulfite levels need to address that before eating high sulfur foods.
Butchers Broom lowers ammonia levels, helps with hemorrhoids, reduces oxidative stress, has been shown to reduce the symptoms of POTS and Cardidtis. Has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Those with type 1 diabetes should not use this they could develop ketoacidosis.
Savory – has Oleanolic Acid and antioxidants. Aids in the repair of DNA. Is also an antispasmodic. Helps unblock Nrf2 pathway.
Mullein (verbascum thapsus) Has antibacterial and expectorant properties. Has also been shown to fight mycobacteria, Is a natural anti-inflamatory. Helps ease menstrual and stomach cramps. Helps normalize estrogen.
Zinc is necessary for the synthesis of proteins. Zinc is important for the proper function of the immune system, keeping eyes healthy, for healthy skin, protecting memory, repair and function of DNA and strengthening of bones.
Good sources of zinc are ginger root, fish, oats, whole wheat, !!Too much zinc inhibits the bodies ability to absorb copper!!
